On my way home tonight on Rt. 16 and pull up to a stop light next to a V8 LS. It was a younger guy and he obviously wanted to go. My dad has the same car and I know I could have beat him. So, green light and we both hit the gas, I, easy on mine because I only have 68 miles on it, and then I have to shift at 4 grand. Second gear comes, same deal, he's gone. Dammit. I would have loved to show him what's up but I suppose it's best to go easy on her. I can't wait for a thousand miles.

On a side note, you've really got to love the attitude on the boards these days. Everyone's cars are coming in, people are happy, people are congratulatory. Not too long ago, it was getting pretty chippy in here as people were getting fed up with rumors and heresay and we were anxiously awaiting and discussing the days to come of threads entitled, "MSP is Amazing", "My Car is Here!!!", "MSP in Cinci", etc. Well, again, congrats to those whove received their cars and to those still hanging in there....it's all worth it.

When I first got my car I went very easy on it, but one day I went through the manual and read the part about the break in. A lot of it surprised me; I suggest reading it.

How long is the break in period according to the manual? Is it really a 1000?

Side note- Jroof, Metrowest says "2 weeks or less" for my black MSP. Whoohoo!

Great news, For Mica. I actually was looking though the manual today and it said the breaking period is about 1000 km which is about 600 mi. That's a little better.

LOL, I see that link posted in every forum I frequent.
I think I'll take the advice of every major automotive manufacturer over this monkey. ;)

yea that sounds like a load of crap to me! if your rings are so ill-fitting that they will wear down one side of the cylender wall before another than you have bigger problems!!!
