It was just sitting in my driveway minding its own business when all the wind we had today broke the top of a maple tree and dumped it on her.

I thought at first the tree had missed my car, but no such luck.

It hit the roof, windshield, hood, and left various scrapes all over, including some on the passenger side. The roof and windshield got the most damage.

The branches were actually resting on the car, mostly the roof. Got a couple big dents in the roof. (The following pic after I did a bunch of cutting and got the tree off my car:)

At this point I'm just sick about it. I take really good care of my vehicles and I know from past experience that body shops never get things 100% back right, maybe 90% if you're lucky. I wonder if I have a case to get the car replaced? It only has a little over 3,000 miles on it.

Sympathy and advice on dealing with the insurance company welcome. :(

thats one of those things that you would never believe unless you have pictures to prove it. Hope everything gets taken care of. Have fun explaining this one to the insurance company lol... And im not laughing because the tree fell on it. Im laughing cause Im glad Im not the only one with bad luck. I feel your pain trust me.

HOLY DAMN DUDE, THAT BLOWS!!! Please forgive me, I feel horrible but I just cant help but laugh with that kinda luck. It remids me of the commercial where the guy gets out of his car, wipes it down, dusts it, puts a cover on it, locks the cover, and just as he is walking away, a dump truck backs into it. (rofl)

Dont worry man, Im sure you will be back in the seat in no time. Best of wishes for you, bro. ;)

Sorry for the incident. If you have a good insurance, you'll be fine and I know that no matter how good the collision shop is, the car won't be the same...but at least you won't eat up a shitload of money. Come to think of it, your $500 deductible (usual) versus negative equity on the car (depends but in your case it may be around 7k).

Get a hacksaw quick and total the car....just kidding.
Anyway, it's a PITA and a big hassle for all that. Hope you'll get by soon. I hit a deer with my Montero Sport and took me 3 wks. to get the car back.

GOODLUCK

Sorry dude, we have had some strong wind here in KY and that has been what I have been afraid of with my P5 all week...my sympathies. I would take it to the most expensive body shop you can find (and the one that does the best work) and have them estimate it, then send that to your insurance. Might as well make insurance pay more to ge the best job done possible...

As long as you have full coverage, its covered so no worries there.

Just call the company and file the claim. You can get a few estimates on your own if you like to compare them to what your adjuster comes up with. Unless its a bad insurance company, they will take care of you. Cases like these are when you find out exactly what type of company you have. Claims service is more important than a lowest premium, especially when you have one.

Sorry to see that happen to you. I am in the Stafford area if you start feeling the boost withdrawls.

And yes, the winds were bad. Flew out of Richmond Sunday.

His auto insurer will pay the claim under comprehensive coverage. Falling objects is one of the perils that coverage provides. Homeowners will pay for the debris removal.

sorry about that. Welcome to the "A Tree Fell on my Mazda club" Same thing happened to me in my P5 except it happened as I was pulling into my driveway during a storm. A loud crack of thunder, and suddenly I was surrounded by leaves and branches.

I am also in Stafford. I had a tree fall about 50 feet from me as I walking the dog. 50 feet is a fair distance but then again, it was a ******* tree!

but yet the basketball net still stands.....

Man, sorry about the car. had someone at work, same scenario, but it was a Expolorer, 9500 bucks damage, brand new suv, mostly warped roof damage.
