Damaged suspension or damaged owner?

So, I hit a pothole a few back. It was in a parking lot, and I was traveling at 15-25 mph. It was deep enough, and I hit it hard enough to cause a bit of concern. A cursory visual inspection of tire and wheel looked fine. I also took the car to the dealer.

The dealer checked:
  • wheel - no damage, but the weights were knocked off, so they rebalanced
  • Suspension adjustments - all to Mazda specs.

Since I was at 6k miles, I also had them rotate the tires.

The thing is, I still feel like my car has some subtle front end vibration. Even at low speeds(less that 35), it never seems 100% smooth.

My question is: Did the pothole damage some part of my suspension, or did it damaged my head and I merely feeling every imperfection of the road? When you're in your MS3, do you ever feel like it's riding on glass, or do you almost always feel every aspect the road?

Personally, I'm thinking the pothole damaged my head (screwy)

TIA!

Im thinking youre reading into it too much. Ive always noticed if you THINK you did something to the car (and in reality its fine) youll notice every little thing.

Ive noticed driving one that it is very communicative in the steering and seats when ANYTHING is present on the road (rocks, cracks, etc..) are you sure its not just a case of this?

your tires are not evenly worn and they never will so you might be just experiencing that.

Yeah most likely... I've been channeling any OCD-type tendencies through my speed3 lately (boom07)

I did the exact same thing in my regular 3 - had to get my tire replaced under warranty.

My steering feels off now - like it's more stiff. I wonder if it's psychological too. =)
Took it into the dealer to get my peeling wheels warrantied and as a side note asked them to check the suspension and testdrive it as well, they thought it was fine.

ha; the same thing happened to me (i hit a snowbank; minor bumper damage) but i could feel every rattle, etc;
so i went and traded it in.. lol

+1 Just give them a few miles to wear in since the rotation.

I would have the wheel checked at another shop. I do not trust the dealers AT ALL! I just bent a wheel myself (front right) when I hit a pothole. Rather than paying exhorbitant prices for a replacement wheel, I just bought a new set of wheels.

Anyone need a spare wheel? I have three good ones!
