Daily Driving, LSD, & Torque Steer

Anybody else notice that, for daily driving, the torque steer becomes annoying as it's always tugging at the wheel?

Is there anything we can do about it?

i dont have a problem with it......i'd rather have it then not, means the LSD is doing its job.

I don't think that's tourqe steer.... Torque steer doesn't happen just crusing around.

I only get it when I'm on it hard.

How exactly are you driving when this happens? And what exactly is the car doing?

Just regular driving.

Whenever you turn, there is that constant tugging on the wheel as it wants to straighten itself out.

In turns at regular speed/regular driving, it's hard to shift and hang on the the wheel at the same time as you REALLY have to pay attention to the wheel as it's tugging the other way...

It's called momentum and any object traveling in one direction and attempting to change to another has it.

Torque steer only happens when you seriously get on the gas and it's doesn't matter if you are going straight or turning.

This is your tires, I think it's called "tracking". When I switched to Toyos Proxes 4 this went down quite a bit. It's simply a byproduct of having grippy tires without deep, all season tread.

the thing that help the torque steer in my car was motor mounts and springs, drives much easier now, you can tell a big difference...

but as far as normal driving, didn't notice anything unusual to begin with...

I've noticed that when you get on the gas really hard out of a turn, the wheels acutally don't try to go straight, they tend to keep going in the same direction.

This is not a one handed car if you are driving agressively at all. The steering is super responsive and the LSD can act crazy at inoportune times.

Yeah, I guess I'm just used to my old Miata. It didn't have the power, for sure, but was a lot easier to drive due to the rear wheel drive.

I only drive 1 handed. I've never had a problem and i've learned the car well enough that i dont even get the torque steer because i automatically compensate for it . Learn to handle the "little" bit of power we do have. Get new tires, mine made it alot better but i really did learn to compensate for it on my own. I've been driving alot of different cars over the past 8 years, and it was really weird driving this at first. So i understand your pain. But i used to drive like a bat out of hell all the time. Now i can't due to my 5 speeding tickets and prior DWI waiting to come off the record. (headshake Oh well save it for the track huh?

When I took the MSP for a test drive the salesman was all over this one telling me to hold on with both hands tight. I thought he was just (blah) -ing but I learned quick that I gotta keep my hands on the wheel. Now-a-days I'm used to it and one-handed driving is how I get around the turns.

yeah, best way is to go to a driving clinic.
there u can test your car's handling in a safe environment.....AND push it harder than on any street.

i get crazy tourque steer on uneven pavement.

isn't torque steer that thing that happens when say you're making a right turn, you stop, and take off pretty hard (not spinning tires) in 1st while at the same time making your turn? the wheel kinda like it doesnt wanna turn back the other way to straighten up, not so bad that its hard to control tho

i've noticed too that it takes a lot less to get torque steer in our cars than it does in most other

IMO torque steer is when the wheel WON'T turn back straight, not when it tries to turn back straight.

I think we should all chip in on some grip strengtheners for Nash. seriously though, I noticed it as well when I first got the car (one of the things I actually liked about it!) but over time you'll get used to it... to the point where you won't even notice it. in fact, when you drive another car (that's not high on lsd) you'll be like WTF? this car sucks!!
