During recent oil change I found dry coolant spray in a rotation outward pattern around the water pump. Its all dry and no wet spots.
It seems it may be leaked some from the weep hole and due to the engine running the water belt rotating it splattered it in a perfect rotation pattern.
We did have some very high heat days past month.Car is less than 30k.
My other cx5 non turbo has sustained many high heat days, has 70k+ miles and never seen any spots like this whatsoever.
My experience in the past is once water pump starts to leak they leak and are wet almost all the time. This one puzzles me as there are no leaks now or no new spots. Mazda has TSB for water pump weep hole leaks but its all related to dry coolant on the pump itself not all around the engine.
Anyone seen anything like this?
Could it be high heat and pressure caused the weep hole seal to purge some?
Appreciate any insight. Thank you.
rear heater hoses near the pump
near/above right driveshaft (water pump
can be seen top right and its all dry. some spots on the belt too)
