Hi,

I would like to let you know that there is al least 1 CX-9 driver in Holland.
I drive a Sparkling Black Mica MY 2008 Grand Tour.

It is a US import car. I really like it and it is much cheaper then a Audi Q7 or a Merc GL.

The car is doing fine, there is only a problem with the breaks. The breaks are not sufficient for Dutch avarage speeds. So I thinhk of replacing them for a bigger brake kit.

Greetings from Amsterdam,
Rob

Before you go that far, look into Hawk Performance brake pads. Some of their applications are far superior than the factory pad.

That said, are you sure there isn't a specific issue with the brakes on your CX-9? The brakes on mine are very good, and others might agree. Are you having a problem with fade, or overall performance?

Even at Autobahn speeds, the factory brakes should provide, at least, adequate performance.

The brakes of CX9 is one of its fortes, not weakness.
Of course, you can always find better pads that are probably a bit noisier.
That is always a trade-off.

My brakes are also good

We in Chicago...drive like crazy. But my CX 9 always stops where I want to stop. Maybe it is the driver feeling?

@ badself.
I think I have a fading problem.
In the city the brakes are doing fine, but when I brake on the highway the second - or third time it takes a lot longer to get the speed out of the car. In Holland our speeds are between 80-100 miles/hour and in Germany even higher. So I will check the Hawk Performance brake pads.

Thnx and regards,
Rob

Hello Rob

Another dutch guy here. (Hengelo Overijssel)
I know of at least two more owners in Holland.
My dealer says there should be around 20 of them on the road...

I know what your about the brakes.. Brembo has a 6-piston caliper with 2 piece 13+ inch rotors. Very similar to the Q7. It's listed for the Ford Edge. However, it will fit as the front brakes are the same on both Vehicles.
