I found a solution for my dash rattle! There’s been a rattling noise from the dash that has been bothering me ever since I got the car used.
Today, I decided to take the trims apart to see what was causing it. At first, I thought the noise was coming from somewhere around the A-pillar, so I used some foam and tape, but with no success.
After taking the A-pillar off, I realized the sound was coming from under the dash. I removed some trim and found an upside-down L-shaped metal piece with what seems to be a yaw sensor(?) attached on top. It’s located right behind the odometer. I reached through and found that it actually vibrates, causing the annoying rattle. I took a video of it.
I inserted some sponge (cut from a car wash sponge, which I might need to replace in the future) between the green connector and the metal piece, as well as between the green connector and the black plastic odometer trim. After reassembling everything, the noise disappeared! I will keep an eye on it, but for now, I am happy.
