CX-30 Wireless Charging Overheats iPhone

I have an iPhone 15 pro, and am only using it for navigation, google etc, no media. Even with the case off, I place it down so the green light comes on, and all it does is overheat my phone and doesn't charge it. Anyone else with this experience?

The chargers seem pretty worthless. The one in my wife's 30 seems mostly to just get her iPhone hot and the one on my CX-5 does the same with my Samsung. That being said when I have my phone in my pocket running AA with music and maps wirelessly it gets pretty warm on it's own and drinks a fair amount of power, a 2 hr drive can knock the battery down by 25-30%. So with that power consumption level it's not too surprising the charger can't keep up, and the wireless charging always adds heat so it sort of follows that it wouldn't charge much and cause the heat issue. Even with no media playing you still have the wireless running and that's a continuous power draw and heat generator.

On my previous CX-5 I built a holder with a built-in Qi fast charger, and in the end it was a failure as the phone got so hot it would cycle the charge system on and off as it heated up and cooled down.

Corded still wins, IMO.
I agree and keep a corded fast charger in my 5. Unfortunately Mazda removed the aux jack in the new 30's so the best you can do is use the wimpy extra USB port in the console. When i went to add a charger to the 30 and found the covered space where it used to be I was sorta stunned.
