CV joint - drivetrain warranty?

I think I may have the beginnings of a bad cv joint. Slight knocking when turning the wheel. Mostly turning left. No knocking while the car is up to speed.

My car is passed the 3 yr warranty. I believe drivetrain is 5 yrs? wonder if this is covered under warranty? I only have the car for another 8 months, don't want to put a lot of money into this thing anymore.

How much is a CV joint or maybe ball joint repair anyways?

I don't think the CV Joint would be covered under the 5yr warranty as its past a certain mileage, forgot the amount. Now it would be considered a wear item.

As for the cost of repair you might want to check with a couple shops to see.

looking through the mazda warranty manual it seems to state that it is under warranty.
