curious what you guys think...

... how do our MS3s, in stock trim, match up to the latest 350z, also in stock trim? i've never driven one of those, and am curious how they hold up against the speed. 300 odd horsepower sounds nice.. RWD sound even nicer.

maybe a better comparison would be comparing it to the rx-8, but the rx-8 loses severely in the power portion.....

the auto mags are praising the new 370z like they did when subi changed the wrx hp to 260. it's a much better car all around than before

oh yea and it has rev matching downshifts...that's pretty sweet in itself

From a dig the speed 3 and 350z would be a close matchup (stock). From a roll the 3 would take it because of its weight. The 350z is a decent car but honestly im not a fan. Cheap interior with no space. It also weights way too much for such a small coupe. The 370z on the other hand seems like a different story. Hopefully the 2010 speed 3 lives up to its expectations.

Also don't let the rx-8 rotary hp get to you. Its much faster than it looks on paper. I drove my uncles rx8 and the handling is godlike.

I would seriously consider a 370z for a weekend car, but I can't get over how the quarter panels intrude on the head and tail lights. Otherwise, the classic Z silhouette and powerful VQ are seckz.

thanks for the replies...

i've grown to like the looks of the 350z. as well as a lot of the newer cars.. took me a while.... and they look nice with a wider tire/wheel as well... some guys make them look pretty 'ricey' around here... i always wanted a 240z... :)

i'm sure there is a well supplied aftermarket for those cars as well...

and i bet the rx-8 is a dynamite car... do they still have to run the 4 cats on them to clean them up?

i'm still friends with a classmate in college that had an rx-7 that was unreal.. they really like the turbos. for sure. when i get ready to build real power in the sprite, he's gonna help me do it, i'm sure.

Only the 03-06 cars. The 07-08 HR cars would murder a stock MS3. Take a look here at all the stock cars in the low, low 13's at 105+.

I like Nissans in general (my wife has a Murano) and I have always liked the Z line. But let's face it the MS3 is a lot cheaper and more practical if that is your thing. It is also not a cop magnet (I think I have got off lucky because it is a Wagon).

When I had my red BMW I was pulled over left and right for looking like I was going fast. I bet the Z is a nightmare in this department.

It's mostly the color that gets attention. I'll bet you focus in on a bright red minivan before a black enzo in a large amount of traffic

Most of them are in the high 13's low 14s & (98-102) trap - From a roll the speed 3 is faster and from a dig it's a drivers race most of the time.

Read again what I wrote. The cars in the high 13s and low 14s are not 07-08 HR cars. I have driven both and there is a big difference between the two.

I sold my modded 350z for my speed3:
