I have a 2003 Mazda P5. Coming out of the grocery store I see my rear fender cracked about a 2 inches :( what would be the cheapest way to fix that?

The fenders are fiberglass correct?

Thanks for your advice or info

Dan

Fenders are not fiberglass man. They're metal. If its cracked, the shop has to weld it back together and repaint it. How did it crack? Did someone run into it?

Hey Maybe I did not explain my self as good as I could, Its not the Metal Bumper. Its the very Bottom just behind the wheel well, I see no Metal. yes someone most of hit me :(

that's the rear bumper cover. you'll probably need to get a new one and have it painted.

cheapest would be some gum and a highliter. j/k
but seriously, our bumpers are almost like polyurathane so welding plastic to it isn't gonna be soo good. I think what will happen is that you will need a new bumper, even though it defenitely aint the cheapest.

You dont need a new bumper. You can have it fiberglassed on the back and they can use body filler and repaint it. It will look better than new. I have also seen shops melt plastic to rejoin two pieces and then use body filler. That part of the car does not flex much so fiberglass is a good solution. If you get it repaired, you are looking at about $175-$200 US from most shops.

but either way they gotta repaint the whole bumper if they try and fix it. I would try and find a used bumper and if needed pain it and if not even better
