Corksport SRI & CEL Code P0462 Mz 3 Sport

Hi guys,

I have a 2010 Mazda 3 Sport with the Corksport SRI with the straightener installed. Two weeks ago my check engine light went on. I took it to my dealership and they said a code P0462 pulled up.

They changed the fuel pump at first and issue was not resolved. Car was in shop 5 days when finally I was told it was the sensor that went bad so they replaced it.

I picked up car last night and on my 20 mile drive home, the check engine light is back on and it was also on this morning on my drive to work. I plan to bring it back to the dealership.

My question is can the code be related to the Corksport SRI?

Check all the connections, I put mine on Saturday and have not had an issue to this point in time (knock on wood). I also installed a Hybrid BOV/BPV at the same time but still no issues.

Check the connections again, he was in the shop and things happen in the shop (like Vegas).

I highly doubt it, the code is common for fuel level sensors. Unless your computer learned the intake completely whacked then I don't see how it could affect that.

I've had mine on for a little over a week with no problems. I love it so far.

Ive had mine on since it came out, the new piece they sent me to fix it did the trick until yesterday, I took off the filter and that piece was loose, I put glue on it to keep it in place and now is fine again. That piece has to be a certain direction and the vibration was moving it all around, hope that helps, easy fix

An easy test would be to put the stock intake on, reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative battery cable(which you should do when changing the intake anyways), and driving on that for a little.

Whazzup kalent!!! So looking forward to car season!!

Me too man I'm sick of this weather! My car is getting tired of the salt (pissed)! All I know is I'm getting my exhaust installed before spring, and on the first nice day I'm going on a loooong ride.

Anyway back on topic, I agree with trying to replace it back with your stock intake box. Reset the computer and drive for a bit, if the light comes back on you know that wasn't/isn't the issue.

I keep forgetting that this general section has actual posts in it or I would have seen this earlier. There is no way that your code had anything to do with our intake - now very obviously. ;-)

The codes we have seen with our intake are generally P0171 when someone runs it without a diffuser or if one of the first batch with the diffuser pressed in without RTV used pops out. Pretty rare though. So, if you have our intake and you bought it last year (before say, December), it may not hurt to pop out the diffuser and reinstall it with a few dabs of RTV between the housing and diffuser. Wipe off any excess with a lightly damp cloth. Here are some installation instructions (See attachment) if anyone needs further information.

These intakes should not ever throw a CEL with the diffuser installed.

The little air straightener that is in the MAF Housing. What CEL Code are you getting, that will narrow it down a lot. It could be a lot of things...gas cap, hose not connected properly, etc. ;-)
