so what the dilly yo? during the test fit, were the stock fans on the car or not.........how about now? i've had a few....(cheers)....need to clarify....if the fan needs to go then i'm out of the GB....i'll just get a side mount and hard pipes....can someone from corksport confirm this.....

It has been confirmed. Yes, you do have to remove a fan. I PM'ed Derrick at Corksport and in the CS FMIC thread you can see the installed pics and you can see the fan has been removed. You do have to remove your AC aux fan to fit the turbo to IC pipe. The claims is the car is fine without the fan and there has been no AC performance issues. I can understand that in Southwest Washington/Portland, Oregon area were the climate is pretty mild. I don't know if you guys in hotter climates that use your AC will be impacted. Previous threads state you can buy a SPAL for pretty cheap around $100 as an upgrade and that is supposed to fit fine. Good luck!

THey're loud, but not jet engine loud. THey make up for it however by being much more efficient.

It's the point that they dont tell you that you need a fan that makes me leary, what else is going to happen once i tear my bumper off and start installing, oh wait this has to be taken off, oh i need to buy this and i gotta take this off too. Seriously...what was the point of this post? It's like you just decided to post a big FU to CS and everyone in the GB for the hell of it. The fan is not a big deal, yeah of course CS could've made this more clear but oh well...it's not the end of the world.

Im not good with tone, I guess you missunderstood me.
It felt to me as though he was starting a personal attack, I was being defensive not affensive.

I mean no disrespect to CS, I have heard nothing but good.
Which is why I was considering this product.

I was just upset that we were not properly informed of this.
I think most members looking to buy this were doing so because of the price and the discount, 75-100$ is kind of a big deal to those on a "budget".


My appologies to whomever thinks I was being out of control. I'm not holding any grudges and Im done.

Lol, ok...my bad. It just kinda ticked me off is all. My original post has been edited. The GB is definitly going to fail unfortunatly but oh well, it's to be expected when something like this comes up outta the blue.

Now to everyone dropping out, IT'S A ******* FAN!!! Like I don't know how else to say it, how this is a big deal beats me, but I had to change BOTH my fans when installing my FMIC. Be lucky it's only one. Besides, it's an upgrade anyways.

An update from the GB thread:

I will have our tech look at possible solutions/alternatives since the charge pipe goes right though the location of the A/C fan. I know a slimmer fan would work but let me see what we can come up with if there is a way to do this with or without a new fan.

On my personal car a turbocharged MP3 I am missing the main fan and running the A/C as my main due to the turbo location. When I was in LA last time for a weekend I didn't experience any deficiencies in cooling in the car with the single fan in regards to my A/C. Locally we dont get too many crazy hot/humid days but the few when I have been driving the car the A/C worked just fine.

I should be able to get some information up here on wednesday afternoon in regards to what we come up with.
