corksport exhaust melted my bumper!

like said i recently installed the corksport exhaust system n it melted my back bumper really bad. anyone else have this problem? and what could i do to stop it?

I've heard of it. You need to bend the hangers more so that its not resting on your bumper. are you using katboy exhaust hangers?

JIC did the same to mine.

I tried everything, including 5 sets of new hangers.

I just ended up sticking with the cheap autozone ones, and bending my hangers with a wrench.

It works fine now, but takes some trial and error.

My hangers were hollow, so it crushed them as I bent.

bending the hangers is your best bet...I have the CS & it has never melted my bumper....my bumber is a bit charred black from the carbon buildup tho hehe

The Kartboy protege Kit doesn't grip the hangers well enough. the 12mm holes were actually large enough that my canister shifted 1-2" side to side.

I have a set of XL kartboy hangers that might work for you if interested.

use a box wrench and bend the hanger on the muffler. Heat it up a little first it will allow it to bend without crushing.

How about just fabbing up an exhaust shield on the bumper?

you would need space between the bumper and the heat shield, if you dont have the space you will have the same bumper melting result. Just bend the hanger with a wrench it takes 5 minutes

yea i tried bending it n it wouldnt move. maybe i could try a torch. i have kartboys n it its so snug on the bumper it doesnt move at all cuz its so tight against the bumper n it makes a terrible noise cuz o my motor mounts.

if the exhaust slides to the left or right jsut use some hose clamps on the hangers. works well.

yea take the exhaust out of the hanger, and heat it and bend it. It also helps if you have someone put pessure down on the tip of the exhaust while your bending it.

Happened to me. I just took it to a muffler shop down the street from me and got them to add a couple inches to it.

im using the Vibrant exhaust with kartboys and i've yet to melt my bumper. jus some carbon buildup that washes away easily.
