Corksport Exhaust BOOO

I purchased the Corksport DP exhaust back for my MSP. I am very disapointed...

1st) they dont provide you with all the needed hardware (uhm)
2nd) the tip was tight against the rear bumper (no)
3rd) I have a terrible rattle where the mid pipe rubs the crossmember :bs:

the directions say if you have a msp,mp3 or something else that it will touch and that you'll have to bend a hanger.
i got all the hardware when i ordered mine. what are you missing?
my midpipe doesn't touch the crossmember, maybe u messing up the install....

1. they should have supplied hardware. It probbaly fell out of the box or they forgot to include it. Worst case sceanrio, $2 at Home Depot.
2. Known problem, you need to bend the hangars.
3. Kartboy hangars. another known problem.

I used to have one, I loved it but it was a bit too loud for me.
Bang for the buck, it's unbeatable.

the bolts missing where replaced

The hangers on the axle back portion where cut and welded in the right position, also the exhaust pipes itself had to be rebent

and everything is RIGHT and it rubs the crossmember over bumps

what kind of mazda is it?
take a pic of the exhaust from underneath.
and i got the kartboy hangers for $28 from corksport. soo much better than stockers

that rattle comes w/ a lot of different exhausts b/c stock hangers are so flimsy. get stiffer exhaust hangers and it'll go away.

like everyone else said, these are not unkown problems and most people are anticipating them while putting an exhaust on their car, and take care of it right away, they are also relativly small problems in comparison to what kind of problems you COULD have with an exhaust...

hope it all works out the best for you (thumb)

Why doesn't corksport make the hangers fit correct? I'm sure a few people have informed them. While 95% of mazdaspeed modders are on this board, the other 5% are pissed.

The exhaust was designed for the regular Protege a few years back. It is not MSP specific. They test fitted it before they sold it to anyone. Mine was on a 2003.5 and when I put it on my 2003 it hit hie valence. It was clear on the 3.5. you should not have to cut and rebend or reweld anything, just loosen up all the bolts, wiggle the exhaust around and then tighten it up.

It's not a big deal, very few things will fit as well as OEM. You just need to be patient and play with it a little. Mine vibrates loose every 500 miles and I have to get under the car and tighten all the bolts. Next time it's getting Loctite.

Mine sits just a little off to the left side, but I hear the Kartboy bushings solve that too.

I just put a CS on my 03 MSP this weekend, and I had to bend the hangers a good couple inches and it still rubbed. I went to the local car parts store, and got 1 univ hanger to replace the one at the rear axle (not the very rear one but the next one in from the back of the car). It has about a 3" spread between holes & fits like a glove now.
Oh! Quick word of caution to interested CS exhaust parties. It's way louder than I thought it would be. I like hearing my car, but my wife can hear me (under normal driving) 3 blocks away from my house! I'll be recommending anyone getting this system should get the silencer at the same time, bc imo it's a little too ricer sounding for me, and replaces some of the driving fun with self-conciousness in everyday traffic.
