Corksport downpipe and CA emissions

Hey guys,

I've been looking at the Corksport down pipe for a while. In my research I've seen some people saying that this may cause smog testing issues while others say that it won't. Is there anyone in California that has this installed that has passed smog testing with no issues?

Thanks!

its not going to pass a visual inspection under direct scrutiny i can tell you that much

it wont pass anything here in cali hahahaha you can fail for a boost gauge vacuum line and "t" fitting. You gotta run stock or keep stock parts for when smog time comes...unless the part has a carb # on it and a cattless dp doesnt ever get one of those.

IF this removes the cats. then its illegal in cali. Removing or runnign no cats can be a fine by a cop around $3000. Its also illegal in cali to touch your cats pre 80,000 miles, has to be done by a ASe shop or tech. and under 50,000 miles is covered under an emissions warranty (and saftey equiptment that long) even if your warrant is void i think.

BUt technically in cali. touching the cats is a big no no!

Thanks for the responses guys, I think I'll stay away from this one. Installing a DP is within my skills, putting it back to stock for smog testing doesn't sound like a good time though.

A DP seemed like the next logical step after an intake,TIP, and RMM any suggestions as to another direction I can take? Is it worth doing anything like a BPV upgrade with my current minor mod list?

race pipe. popping that out and the second cat in at test time isn't so hard. ...and you're right, a DP is the next logical mod but, not where you're at.
