Cop shoots himself in front of kids!

OMG, too funny. I agree with tease, on the fact that there is no way that was a full direct hit, but as the other guy said, most likely just a graze, and some powder burns. Atleast he admitted it was an accident though, and then tries to preach gun safety..lol. I love how the freak out about the auto..lol.

I'm going with the blank theory.... no cop is that stupid as to pull out a gun in a room full of kids, have the saftey off, and on top off all that pull the trigger. And I also can't see a possible way he could have actually been shot and still go on like he did... even if it was a graze, or just knicked the skin, he still would have done something else besides trying to go on with the presentation.

that dumb ass didn't even know what gun he was carrying, its a Glock 22/23 not 40, .40 referes to the calibre.

why was the safety not on? why did he pull out his gun to show everyone without removing the clip and clearing the chamber? smoke too much weed before?

Tend to agree with the planned nature of it. Look at the final outcome when they pulled another gun out the kids started screaming no..put it back. The perfect reaction they probably wanted. He basically scared the kids into staying away from them. Further when we had cops come to school they didn't have a loaded weapon out and displaying it. Our cops didn't mess around with them in any fashion. Heck when a kid tried to take one, he didn't get past the step of touching it. The cop turn so fast, club out and whacked the kid down hard. Lesson learned:Do not touch a cops gun.

Glocks don't have a safety you can click on and off. There is a safety on the trigger that if you pull the trigger a tiny bit, then the safety is off. And wasn't that lady at the end looking at the wall? Like looking at the hole it made? And he probably hurt his hand more than anything from the recoil of the slide. If that was done on purpose that was executed very well. If not, then he shouldn't be a cop.

Also, you can relax on preaching to the community about how wonderfull police officers are...Not everyone is a fuzz hatin' half-wit...But be honest, there are corrupt cops...and you know nothing about that guy...he could be into all kinds of bad s*** and still go give presentations to kids

Theres nothing wrong with someone expressing their beilef in cops...alll too many times ( just as you have shown) if a officer makes one mistake regardless of severity even if it wasnt what you just watched they are pigeon holed for the rest of their life by civilians who know nothing of the job nor ever experienced many of the situations officers are in daily.

It is one job that I would like to do but at the sametime would be the hardest cause of public intense hatred at times. Cops are screwed if they do and screwed if they don't. Honestly I'm suprise more don't beat the crap out of people seeing...actually nevermind..reading how some feel towards them as they view their world from the outside. Isn't the internet wonderful....;)

i know its a little clicky thing in the middle of the trigger that pops out and prevents the triger from being pulled back untill you click it back to its orignial position. i have a glock 19 and 23.

the USP also has a feature like that beside the standard safety which locks the trigger. Basically the other feature on the USP will extend the trigger travel length further. After the first trigger pull it returns to normal travel length.
Neat little feature so the gun can always be life but at the sametime not go off easily when pulled out or dropped.

on some Hk's there is a little key that you turn inside the mag comparment, this key locks the trigger, if you are not familiar with the gun you probably wouldn't be able to figure it out its too late.
