Cop drove my MS3 150 MPH...

Since this technically doesn't count as racing, I thought I would post this.

He drove my last MS3 fast too...I won't do it. (Can you imagine getting pulled over going at that speed?) He wanted to beat his last speed of 146. He did.

My neighbor, who is a DC cop has always liked my car. After my first MS3 was stolen, I got a new one. He asked if he could drive it (again), so I said sure. We went out on a clear stretch of road (same area) that is straight and pretty level for about 5 miles. He took off. He is yelling like a crazy man (having a good time) and he is bouncing off the rev limiter in 5th when I yell at him to shift!! He pulls 6th and I start calling the numbers off starting at 140. At 150...it was still pulling, but we ran out of room....

The fastest I have ever been in a car...ever...and it was smooth and stable.

Yes they are.... He deals with the worst of DC all the time. Murders, rapists, assaults, etc., He has also attended multiple police driving schools and knows how to handle a car with the best of them. I trust his skills. The kid is good. (He is only 26.)

thats awesome, but what i would want is for him to ride along with me while I drove that fast, just in case i get pulled over, never hurts to have a cop in the car with you

I thought about that too. However, I would only do that if we were in DC. Since I live in Howard County, they may not let me off just because I was riding with a DC cop.

Wait a minute so your first MS3 was stollen now you let your new one be driven 150 mph. Man you are just asking for another disaster arent you?

Be nice to the poor car it hasnt done anything to you. I can just see you going to your insurance again and saying the car they just paid for is now totaled.

ha good point, and finding a spot in DC to go 150mph? that could be a little tough.....

I don't think driving it 150 is being mean to the car. (The car is designed to handle it.) Besides, if we did wreck, we would both be dead, so I think my problems would be over at that point.

I appreciate the sentiment though whitey. I just see them (the theft and this) as two very different events.

LOL, just becareful man that would be bad to have anything happen to the CAR again. Just kidding, yeah wrecking at that speed wouldnt be all too fun.

Man it sucks being responsible now because all this just sounds stupid and dangerous to tell you the truth. I keep telling my wife that I remember having a fast car as being more fun but now I just putt along and every now and then get on it where its safe like on ramps ect.

On another note I would feel better in an EVO with built in roll cage doing something like this but not on our cars. Not so sure how well our MS3's take a roll over but my guess is it woudlnt be as well as a car with a roll cage like an EVO.

Believe me when I tell you, there isn't ONE stretch of road you can do 150mph in d.c. without killing yourself...well, MAYBE 295...next door in md or va most def, but it's too many cops out here.

no car without a roll cage would do good in a roll over at 150...are u serious?

Yeah...I think that if you wreck in anything short of a professionally made race car harness with full gear on, you are dead meat at 150. Either that, or damn lucky. There isn't a stock car I can think of that you have a good chance in at that speed.

And there are NO good places in DC at all to get up to a decent speed. You can head out in parts of MD / VA for good stretches depending on the time of day. That was exactly the case here. It was about 8 pm, so it was still light out, and the traffic was almost zero.

yeah ive driven through DC enough times to know that its pretty much impossible to get up to those speeds without killing yourself or someone else. I hit 100+ on the beltway once or twice, but that was at like 3am

Especially the way people drive in this area! They suck so bad. They are bad drivers to start with (present party excluded of course) and they enjoy cutting you off, even at the risk of causing an accident. I have never seen more malicious (but I have seen worse drivers in Hawaii) than here. Hawaii drivers are the worse I have ever seen but at least they are nice.

my friend is a trooper and he has a 500 ponied 05 STi. He says he got tired ot racing cars, he now deals with bikes hehe. I think its more than obvious to mention that he has topped it. He drives like a lunatic too...everytime we put something on his car his takes it for a rough ride...50mph illegal U-turns? doable...on his STi.
