It can after a while but my question is why is it connected directly to your battery instead of oh, a cigarette lighter?

it would only be left on over night. the whole point of the kit is not use the cig lighter, unless you mean from the power of the cig lighter wire, which i would do, but for some reason, thats not getting any power.

Instead of going to the battery through the firewall, I would find some place on the fusebox. It would be easier IMHO.
