Cooling down the Engine Bay

I have a FMIC, full size AWR radiator, 2, count-em' 2 SPAL 12" fans on the same remote fan switch and Water Wetter. My car runs pretty hot still. My next step is to get my IC pipng ceramic coated.... I'm actually running out of ideas.

But for when we are at the track we have built a rack that holds 4 12" fans and sits over the engine bay and blows straight down on the enigne. I can drop surface temps on the intake mainfold by 60 degrees in less than 10 minutes!

i have FMIC use WW have 1 slimline fan and all my pipes are thermal coated ,removed weather stripping and i still run hot . the best way to reduce heat under the hood would be to heat wrap the manifold and down pipe + vented hood , wraping all the cold pipes would protect the intake charge to help further
i like the crazy 4 fan idea tho

Thermoblok spacers, a vented hood, lower temp thermostat, your choice of IC sprayer...those should lower your temps a lot.

coolant bypass mod cools down the engine bay ALOT.
The coolant bypass "mod" is only meant to remove unnecessary heat from the TB. It it no way cools the engine bay at all.

I agree, I did this as well and I didn't notice any difference. I then took out the rear weather stripping and noticed a significant difference.

I just ordered the 3" ion turbo back exhaust and got the down-pipe ceramic coated. MPNICK said that coating can cause the metal to crack. Will the ceramic coating cause my down-pipe to crack?

How is the car in the rain with the weather stripping removed? Does the engine get soaked or what?
I haven't popped the hood after it sitting in the rain, but when driving in the rain it won't make any difference because water can't go down that way. I'll check it out next it sits in the rain. (which will probably be this afternoon)

I did the weatherstripping when I first got the car...didn't notice a damn thing. Every little bit helps though & I'll do anything I can to cool this hot tamale down. :p

Maybe I didnt run it much the first time I stuck my hand in there after taking it out. I just got home from a friend's and didn't push it hard at all and it's not hot but very warm. I'm sure if I ran it harder it would get to it's standard baking temperatures.

Is anyone out there removing the front weatherstripping? I removed the rear stuff a while ago, but I'm a little cautious of doing the front, since I think I'd have to rip it out, and the change seems irreversible. Those fasteners do not come out easily.

Just cut away sections where it is not attached.

sorry i dont have the info u asked for but you can always call up or PM Beau and he'll sell you the fans.

Remove all the weather striping from under the hood. (the 2 on the front of the hood and the 1 attached to the plastic lip. All your hood needs is the two rubber stops located at the front to rest on. You now allow some more air to enter from the front and pass out the back. I have had no problems with rain or snow. Note: your engine area will tend to get a little more dusty.
