Convince me...

Alright here's my dilemma.. I've got my speed with about 4000 miles on it now, and for the most part I've been babying 'er, with your occasional bout of 'speed'. Anyway, I read this forum quite frequently and I get the feeling a lot of you guys out there are really stomping on it, and driving the speed hard.. Help me get over my fear that I'm going to mess up my car and shorten its lifespan by driving it how it's meant to be driven.. I think I'm apprehensive being that this is my first NEW car, and let's be honest, it's hard not to love the car.. What do you guys think?

Speed, drift, auto X the living s*** out of it man, its a car, its meant to be driven and pushed to the limit sometimes!!!!

I drive the car as it's designed to be driven. Driving the car hard when it's cold, lugging the engine, and failure to do routine maintenance will kill a car. Any car. Once properly warmed, driving this car using its full amount of power is only utilizing it for what it was designed to do. The only thing you are destroying are 140 tread wear Potenzas.

Enjoy your car to the fullest!

I am with you, if you take care of your car you will be able to enjoy it to the fullest and for long time. I've been driving 21 years and I had only go thru 7 cars with the MS3. The first few years I started driving like a maniac and the cars lasted only 2-5 years the most. The I started taking care of my car and they now last at least 7-10 years with no problems at all and I get to sell them at a good price. The benefits of that is that after a few years of saving your car you will be able to reach the car of your dreams. Drive hard and enjoy your time, but make sure you take care of it.

LOL wtf? come on dude... drive the car!!! if you didn't want to drive fast you wouldn't have bought a fast car. it's like... buying the most expensive, most advanced basketball sneakers...only to never step foot on an actual basketball court.

i remember being young and getting a fresh pair of sneakers... I'd be ultra careful with them until I got that ONE speck of dirt on them. after that they went downhill fast.

That and if you do manage to break something it's usually covered under warrenty, which is a perk of having a new car. So I say drive it fast and enjoy it while still respecting that cars do have there limits(rev limits and what not) and get your moneys worth out of the car or you could have saved 10K and bought a focus.

I agree with S/A. Use your common sense. Take care of your car, but drive it the fullest when you have the opportunity. Driving it to the fullest and abusing it are 2 different things. I ******* can't wait for mine to arrive.....delivery date is February...(pissed)
