considering purchase of MSP

I've been looking into the purchase of a MSP so much I found something out that I bet not alot of people know. The MSP blue and silver are categorized as MSP 2003.7

I have asked the customer service reps at Mazda 1-800 about the hesitation problems. I have talked to two people about this and the first person wouldn't believe it at all, then I referenced this forum and brought him directly to the poll. I raised my voice as I made him read with me that 97% of owners are having this problem he put me on hold. Came back acting like he found the problem himself, said he talked to a technician and they know about it they're working on a fix?
Today I called again being as I'm not going to be able to buy for a couple of weeks or so I wanted to know exactly which colors were being shipped. I have a brochure it says blue and silver, some of the dealers in Oklahoma have said the same. Customer service at mazda thinks that its blue and yellow??
Main point of all this is this is going to be my first major purchase my friend just bout a spec V I just want to buy a car that can take him out of the box without mods. do you guys reccomend the MSP or should I say away. please no answers tht are crap like You should evaluate the purchase for yourself i want owners true opinions.
from what i know and have seen i think you people aren't breaking in these vehicles before you gun them. i also think you ppl don't allow your engines to warm each day before you hot rod them.

not quite sure about that last sentence....

anyways, welcome aboard.

Check the mazda.com site. The 2003.7 colors are Silver and Blue. ONLY IN THE US. The 2003.5 are yellow and grey...

And yes, get one, you won't be sorry.

Oh, and welcome aboard!

And, between the spec and the MSP, it really comes down to the drivers.

And what would lead you to believe that we don't let our cars warm up enough in the mornings?? I Have never owned a brand new car before, so I was little unsure about the exact break in period. SInce I drive an average of 100 miles a day, I let my car gor for around 1200 miles before I started getting the revs up hard. Don't come in here and ask us about our cars, and then personally bash us by making it sound like the hesitaion is our own faults...or at least "97%" of us....Maybe you should do a little more research on your own...(nuts)

Whoa, calm down there bud. He never said he though it was everyone's fault. He only said he THINKS. He never made any corrleation between the two either. He was never bashing you all. You MSP boys are too quick to jump on ppl's asses. A bit too sensitive IMO.

thanks man but it's kewl this forum rocks!!!
The thread I like the most is the one where the guyz talking about the 77hp gain via a catback i think, and you can actually hear the little babies whinning the whole 16 pages or so!

I'm going to call BS on this one - the guy's just telling you what you want to hear to get you off the topic.

"Oh yeah... that... uh.. umm... we're working on it." :bs:

who told you to wait till 1200 miles?
Nobody told me to wait 1200 miles. But since I did than in less than two weeks, it wasn't hard to do. I didnt get it up to redline for a loong, long time...

I understand he "thinks" we are doing this stuff wrong, but what reasoning does he have to support it? None, other than the fact that some of the MSP guys are having problems. He makes it sound like we don't know how to treat our cars...If you want to call it bashing, he did a pretty good job of it.

Seriously, are you trying to pick a fight or something?? Like I said in the last response, nobody told me. I simply wanted to get a bunch of miles on my car before I started running it hard...Would it make you fee;l better if I only let it go 800, or if I went to 1,500 miles? Why are you hung up on the mileage?

I want you to admit you attacked me!
I want you to admit you are ignorant of how many miles it takes to break in an engine!
I want you to realize you have issues!
I want you to realize that nobody will buy your Skunk2 coilovers & new Ground Control camber plates if you're an @ss!

I love the internet!
here we go Alex This rocks @ss
I am the owner/CEO of AG Performance Garage. We do everything from basic aftermarket installations(intake, header, exhaust, lowering) to motor swaps, and body work. Our new project car is a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. Alas I didn't know how to break it in : (

You are too funny....So, since you seem to know this car so well, how many miles does it take to break it in properly??? Since I am now well over 8,000 miles with no problems, tell me where I went wrong. Oh, and as far as AG Performance, dick, it is a joke. It is my GARAGE. Give it a rest.

but of course anyone who dosent know how many miles it takes to break in a new engine couldn't possibly have a garage other than of course "Oh, and as far as AG Performance, dick, it is a joke. It is my GARAGE. Give it a rest."
guess your a joke pal!

Okay, your right, I am a joke. I lied about my car too, thats why I don't know how many miles is takes to break it in. Since you like browsing the web, you also saw that pic of MY civic. The MSP is my dads. PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!

I'm sorry I wasn't going to say this but after 1 minute of laughter i have to. here goes uh umm.
why dont you admit he wakes you up in the middle of the night and rolls you over for some butt sex, OR am I gonna have to dig up some pictures on that before you admit?
