Congrats to JOMO

My setup is a bit different therefore I use a little more fuel....plus I just haven't tuned it all the way yet, so that's why you're rich. You probably hit some "rich walls" don't you?

Your right about that. I have a little vac leak that I need to fix, and I can't go full throttle because one of the couplers that are on the piping is not staying on so well. When at half throttle I blow a charge pipe. I need a 2.5 to 2.75 coupler. Right now its a rubber coupler from home depot and is the only one that keeps blowing at half throttle. I'll have that fixed tomorrow hopefully, and the guy who was going to tune my car was sick today so I didn't have a chance to talk to him. Wed or thursday I should have it tuned.

hope it works out for you. if you cant find any silicone couplings locally you can order them online too. welcome to the world of boost.

I got the couplers today from a local speed shop. I could finally kind of get on it. This is amazing. Im kind of wondering now why I tried to go N/A. I ran a few people, and sandspeed was one of them. I still had a tini tiny vacumm leak when we ran. Over all,Im impressed for 7psi untuned, and runny really rich.

One question, right now I'm running open down pipe. I still have the 2.25 exhaust, but its not connected. Now should I just get a new flange put on my exhaust to fit my 2.5'' downpipe. Is 2.25 to small for boost or should I save a little more and get 2.5'' piping. I think I will just get the new flange put on tomorrow because open downpipe could get really really Loud, and theres no getting yous't to it.

There are people running 2.25" exhaust with turbo, so that would work. But if you ever plan on going more, you might as well get it out of the way now. But to save money and time, the 2.25" will hold you over. Now get that thing fixed and tuned!(thumb)

Sweet to hear about the install, i spoke with Chris and he mentioned he was gonna help out. I just got my MPI today and I freaked when I saw the install quick before i left to school. Im sure it's much simpler once i read over the instructions. Im gonna be boostin 6 psi and plan on install spring break unless i get everything in the mail sooner. The only thing is i gotta make my car retarded (eyeballs) since i got the MP3.

I went today and just had them do the 2.25 piping. It sounds good. Not that loud at all compared to my headerback exhaust. Im trying to get it tuned but the guy thats tuning it is really busy latley. Im sure Ill have it done this weekend.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I finally got the car dyno tuned on thursday. I got 183hp and 186tq at 8psi. Im happy with the results, either way the car pulls like crazy. Later in the week, Im buying a spearco fmic and getting it retuned and should be close to 200whp. Maybe another thing holding be back is the 2.25" exhaust, but that could wait.

One thing though(dont rely on ebay intercoolers), they are pure crap. I had Juans brother Manuel tune the car at btk performance. He was learning how to tune with the mpi while on the dyno, so Im sure there's more power to come out of this. He told me with the better fmic I should see another 10-15hp if not more with a better tune since he's still learning.

Even though people only hear me say I have 180whp,there suprized how it moves. I was looking for about 200whp and am determined to get it. I'll post up the new dyno sheets thursday-friday.

So you got it WOT tuned only? How does the midrange drive now? 180 is real low for that, you definatly have much more power in there with a better tune. Congrats though, at least you are on the right track to having it tuned all the way. (thumb)

First he street tuned it, and then did some fine tuning on the dyno. It drives awsome. Even though I was hoping for over 200whp, Im happy. When I was looking at the dyno sheets, at 5k rpm theres a little dip in power and then it jumps back up after that. So we need to work that out too. Of course I want more, but like I said this is the first time Manuel ever tuned with the mpi. He's learning it right now and talking over the phone with Nick to learn more about it. I know I can get a better tune since it was his first time, we'll see later on in the week, and am hoping to be over the 200whp barrier.

I agree fully. If you want a really good core, get a Garrett.

Ahh, bump for the first few days of boost. Iv'e come along way since. Oh, new #'s to be posted soon on my new setup. Stay tuned.

I remember the first days of being boosted... Good days, can't wait to get them back. Hopefully in a new ride :)
