Commander Station - Home button issue

:
2017 CX5 AWD Touring
Weird thing happened. My HOME button on the commander station didn't pop back up like it should. It is no longer higher than the other buttons and is permanently in the depressed position so something broke.

It still works but no longer pops up. Any HOW TO's?

Assuming nothing has been spilled, try a very small flat head screwdriver with like a fiber cloth wrapped around it and dry to nudge it up ever so slightly? That's just my first thought. I will look at mine in a little see if something like that would even be possible. If you're under warranty though, I would just take it in and not even mess with it.

Yes, try popping it up with a thin piece of plastic like from a clamshell blister-pack type packaging...

Take it apart yourself to fix or replace, and write a HOW-TO...

Or bring to the dealer and let them take care of it.

I have the exact same problem with my wife's '16. Except the HOME button no longer works, it is permanently depressed. The display now always defaults to the Home screen. Luckily the other 2 buttons still work and over-ride the HOME button, so we can still use the radio and Nav.

I doubt the button can be pushed back up with a screwdriver. It appears to be a mechanical failure of the switch that will require a warranty replacement.

Will the warranty cover this Z06trev?

The warranty certainly should cover this. It is clearly a defective part. And it sounds like others are having similar problems. There is another thread about a stuck Audio button.

Well, the latest update:

I took a folded sheet of paper and an it between the button and the housing. The button popped back up and so far so good.

Not sure what happened there. Maybe some dirt or expansion?

Will see if it happens again but a folded sheet of paper and a quick floss between the button and all is well.

I was also able to fix my stuck button by prying it up. I used a small flat blade plastic tool made for removing interior trim. But the first time I pressed the button it got stuck down again. I had to repeat the prying up, pressing down procedure multiple times before it worked correctly. Hopefully it will continue to work now.
