When i bought my speed3 the dealership didnt let me know of any service points i need to come in, as in 30k, 45k, so i am wondering do i have to go in at 30k and if i dont will that void warrenty since im not having it serviced by them?

Didn't void mine, of course the warranty part I needed was under the 60k, not 30k. But I had not been to any dealer for anything other than for a warranty reason (accellerometer, leaking output shaft), and I still got free work due to the warranty

I've done my own maintenence to include oil change, tire rotation, small repairs, inspections, servicing of parts. So, if your dealer says they want to inspect your car at 30k and 60k, expect them to also charge you an insane amount of money for very little work

And everything is in your owners manual, schedule-wise, so check it out

But just so you know, I am NOT one of those ppl who gives my car to the dealer every 20-30k miles to do nothing but look at stuff when I can do it myself

I can easily do it myself as well i just didnt want to void any warrenty by not letting them do it but i guess if they truely wanted me to come in they would have told me about scheduling service visits when i was there. Thank.

I'm not trying to disuade you from doing it that way, I'm just saying that the dealer has no records of service on my vehicle besides a couple warranted items and I didn't have to pay for it

For all I know, your dealer could be an asshole and say "your warranty is voided cuz you didnt get your 30k inspection done here". That's just straight bulls*** if they do

Yea i know your not i just dont want to dump hundreds of dollars for them to stand around and stare at things.

Which is exactly what they'd be doing. Having an inspection at a predetermined mileage is their way of trying to find something wrong with your car. Any reputable shop during any old oil change should be looking around your car anyway to try to find something wrong with it

No shop wants to do just an oil change and be done with your car. They WANT to find something to fix. They will even tell you that you need something when yoiu don't

Case in point, I had my tacoma get a tire rotation at the dealer once and they said I needed new brakes. I thought "okay thanks" and went ahead and bought pads and rotors for the front, and shoes for the rears so I could do it at UTI. Well I took everything apart and saw that I still had like half my pads left. I could have gone another 50k on them

Sorry to rant but this is something I'm very adamant in. I do everything myself because I've been told I've needed things that I didn't, or things broken I know I didn't break, or even the oil fill cap missing after going to jiffy lube (mistake to go there when I was first driving)

Heh, when I got my purge valve replaced last year, the dealer that did it did a "free walkaround inspection" while they had my car and listed concerns. One of them was "tires below 50% tread, need replacing."

I thought that was funny when I read it, cause my new tires only had like 8000 miles on them, and they were NOWHERE near worn.

It's good to have oil change done somewhere where you get a detailed invoice, in case you have to prove engine maintenance for your turbo smoking or exploding. ;) Beyond that, you would definitely benefit from learning simple maintenance on your own car.
