Cold/Warm Air Switch Wire Problem

Hi, I have a 2002 Protege LX. I noticed that there was no hot air coming when I switched the air temp to hot, instead it was cold air. So I dropped the glovebox and found that the wire that connects to the post that opens the blend door to let warm air flow has a black clamp which came off of the white plastic tab.

The issue I have is that when I get the clamp on the white plastic tab, the cable doesn't sit there naturallly so it doesn't really seem to work well. Does anyone have a good picture of where and how this black clamp holds the wire?

Appreciate your advise, I'll try to get pictures later today.

I managed to fix it. The cable wasn't routed correctly from the air temp switch and therefore didn't sit in the clamp in a natural position. I had to pull the cable, route it correctly and now it sits in the clamp and works just fine. Lots of work and swearing though haha!

Strange. Are you the first owner? If not, my guess is that a previous owner misrouted the cable.

Yeah I'm not the first owner. Pretty weird that the cable was misrouted, but I'm glad I was able to get it fixed.
