I have a question...(sue me, I havent really searched).

Has anyone used the AEM water bypass valve with the Injen Intake? Is there any problems with this? Thanks.
why would they have problem with bypass valve? never heard of it.
I heard it reduces hp little, but other than that..no

for $60, you can get 3 ebay intakes and a k&n filter for the price of an injen intake. if there IS a peeling issue, you can just swap out the intake and have a brand new one in less than an hour. speaking of peeling, i need to buff my injen... it's getting dull.

Injen is your best bet, or the K& N Typhoon system but those are pretty pricy.
i have the best price on the K&N Typhoon intake you will find. $260 shipped. I've seen it for well over $330 elsewhere.

my opinion, and many others agree though it is debated, is that the bypass valve is a gimmick, a fraud, a joke, hype, etc. You would LITERALLY have to submerge your car in a foot deep of water and stomp the gas to suck that much water into your engine. I've been around Proteges with intakes in the worst torrential downpours and near flood conditions. The only time I've ever seen an intake suck in water was when the driver had taken the filter off the end and was just running a bare pipe! The bypass can be used with the Injen to my knowledge but I feel that it is an unneeded expense unless you plan on turning your Protege into an amphibious vehicle.

Thanks Captain :) You guys have a great price on the Injen CAI, and I will be ordering from you as soon as I can figure out what exhaust I'm going to go with.

**EDIT**

One more newbie question:

What size piping is used on the Injen CAI for the '03 P5? I was looking on their site and other vendors sites and didnt see the sizing for the piping. Is it 2.25 or 2.5? Thanks again.
