coil??

does anybody know where can i find a good how to: test ignition coils?

the only one i have read is to unplug one spark plug wire and remove one spark plug out the engine once removed put it back on the wire find a ground point, have someone to turn the car on and check for a a bright blue spark in the spark plug.........

i know it could also be checked with a volt meter...does any one know how to?


my car is running really bad im just trying to eliminate things that might be making my car loose acceleration.......next thing im checking for clogged catalytic converter...

Check the service manual stickied at the top of this section. IIRC, it speaks to testing with multimeter & what readings should be..............

Or swap and see if the mis-fire code moves to another set of cylinders.

Swap with another P5/protege?
