Code P0018 - 2009 Mazda CX-9...Any ideas?

We are getting code P0018. We have replaced both of the cam shaft sensors and crankshaft sensor and our check engine light is still on. Any idea?

How many miles on the vehicle? If it's way up there you could have issues with the timing chain stretching or issues with the tensioner or the guides.

I don't have any experience with this engine going that long personally but you should do some google research about the timing components at that mileage. There may be a common pattern with them.

After my daughter dumping $1500 into her vehicle To remedy the 0018 Code It still hasn't been resolved. It won't pass state inspection if the engine light is on so they have a vehicle sitting in the driveway that they can't drive because they can't get it registered. Her husband replaced all The parts That were recommended to solve the issue. As a last resort I suggested He by an ohms tester and check all the electrical connections but he didn't feel comfortable doing that so he took it to a certified dealer and they told him everything was fine With the electrical, that it had to be the timing chain. The problem with this is she had taken it to a dealership previously and they had told her All these parts that needed to be replaced but that had already been done, So you don't know if they're doing their job or not , or if they're just looking Up the error code and telling them what needs to be done. I also wondered if one of the parts that he had replaced may have been faulty. After evthe light goes off until the vehicle's been shut off and as soon as it has been started again the light comes back on. My question is, if it Is the timing chain? Wouldn't it run really crappy? The car runs great. Once in a while it will lag for a second but very seldom. I just have a hard time believing that is the problem and I hate to see her dump another three thousand dollars into the vehicle if that's not really the issue. Also, she did say that he didn't replace the gasket On I think it was the cam shaft sensor or the crank shaft sensor? Which from what I learned is a No no you have to replace the gaskets and make sure You have a clean surface. They did take it in for a complete oil change and I had her check to make sure that they Replaced it with the correct viscosity and that the oil level was correct. Once again that's the thing, you never know if people are doing their job right or not. It has a hundred and fifty thousand miles on it and like I
Said it runs beautifully except for an occasional lag and I mean very occasional. It's a MAZDA 2009 cx
