COBB shifter creaking

Like the title says, usually after driving for a few minutes my cobb shifter starts to creak when putting into 3rd and 5th gear. I'm assuming its the shifter, as I can't see what else it could be? I tried putting some wd40 on the ball joint at the bottom but that didn't really do anything. Tried opening up the center dash to see if I could locate exactly where it's creaking but no luck. Anybody have this problem?

Could be the ball joints where the cables attach to the shifter, or the cables themselves.

Don't use WD-40, use white lithium grease.
