clutch making squeaking/groaning sound

Redline took care of my 3rd gear clunk at 70000 miles even when its below 32deg. I use it in both of my Audis with manual transmissions and they shift beautifully.

I've always use this Valvoline comes in a grey bottle full synthetic and it's good with limited slip differentials as well in all my manual cars and I've never had any issues. kind of odd that I would have issues with it in this car after so many cars that I've used it in and I doubt that that's the problem.

I believe the recommended viscosity is 75W-90 for cold climates and 80W-90 for warm. You might try going back to that.

I'll have to double check that and see. I know it comes in 2 different viscosity ratings...I'm pretty sure I grabbed the right one, but now that you mention 75/90, I'm not sure... I'll pull it up in the records on my Mazda app and post back

If it's indeed a "loose heat shield" type rattle I still think the throw out bearing is going bad. How does the sound change when the clutch is engaged / disengaged?

Pretty much no change. I only get the noise when rpms are lower and I slip the clutch. Also when going uphill and cornering I hear a similar noise from the right front and sometimes it feels like the.clutch slips. No fluctuations in the rpms though, so I'm puzzled. Car is.going to the.mechanic next week for a test drive to try and get a definite diagnosis.

As for the trans oil, I double checked my records tonight and it was valvoline synpower 75w90 that I used, 3 quarts, about 6k miles ago
