'Clunk' heard on driver's side when backing up with wheel turned?

I posted this in the 2010 forum and got no response. I get a 'clunk' when backing up with the wheel turned. Only seems to happen when the car is cold and has been sitting for hours. I'm hoping it's not that damned tranny mount bolt backing out already. The car only has 250 miles on it.

Could it be the cold clunking of the suspension?

Please respond.

(Engine mount upgrades are coming within a day, but I'm driving far tonight and don't want a dropped engine on the road.)

welcome to the cold. it will make many awesome noises. i have a 1st gen so i dont know how bad yours is gonna be. but expect the clutch to become heavy, and shifting to become notchy

If it's cold-clunking suspension or tranny, no problem. My '07 had a heavy clutch and hard shifts in the cold too.

I'm just freaked because of the mount failures I had in the '07. Can't wait for TRZ Upgrades! Just to put my mind at ease.

Mine does it every morning pulling out of the garage. Only does it in the winter. Can't wait for spring.

Yeah mine does the same exact thing as described and only when cold. Not to thread jack but I'm in my second year of ownership and another weird cold issue is if the ambient temp drops below 35 degrees Far. my brakes squeal like a stuck pig when a certain amount of force is applied. But as soon as the brakes warm up or the ambient temp goes up it stops squealling. I haven't noticed any performance change in the brakes... anyone else see this happen?

Mine actually seems to clunk very quietly nearly everytime I accelerate from a stop. So the problem is the motor mounts giving out?

this is a axle nut that is coming off, sounds like what my car was doing 2008.5

and the poping when backing up is ur streeing shaft

i will look at my dealer pagers tmw and get more info
