Clunk / Conk noise when shifting into Second Gear.

Hello all.

I have been experiencing this issue for a little while and am not sure of its origins....

I currently have a wishbone mount and all other mounts stock. I only experience this in second gear as well. It is a 2006 Speed6 w/ 52,000 miles.

The Scoop:

Select 1st gear and start driving normal.

I push clutch in fully and begin to move the shifter into second.

As I begin entry into second gear I get this clank sound coming from the driver side engine bay.

It does it at any rpm and is louder if I force it in. It is quieter or silent if I shift into second more slowly.

Keep in mind the clutch is FULLY disengaged the entire time and the noise happens as the shifter enters into second gear.

Finally: I never get any grinding, rattling, marble noises, excessive whine or pop out of gear. The shifter has no vibrations at any RPM in 2nd. Also, it does it at low RPM if I force it (sub 2000 rpm).

This could only be a transmission/clutch issue?

Thanks so much for your time.

Edit: Changed tranny oil at 50K when I bought it with amsoil, whatever the correct weight is GL4.
I dont recall if it did it before the change. I had someone do the change for me at the same time as the pto and dif. Could they have put GL5 in it or not enough oil?

Check the front engine mount. Mine had similar symptoms, clunck on 2nd gear when shifting, particularly when cold. They are oil filled, sometimes you can see some dirty around them.
