Animocity? If you read my posts - you'll see there is/was none, until the 'winner!' decides to start name-calling. Now I have some animocity. The problem is, children don't like to be held accountable for their words/actions. Simple. "winner" refused to honor my request to NOT start s***.

Well, first of all, I am a born again Christian. I feel that it is sad that we have "Christians" on this forum with horrible pictures and swearing and thinking that the Lord thinks that's okay. What Bible are you guys reading? You are misrepresenting myself and others that are following Christ. As far as flaming in here, whatever. If a person rejects Jesus Christ that is on them. It makes me pitty their soul. We just need to state the facts...better yet, live it. How does your life mirror Christ's? If you are out in public, how are you different than the person next to you? People are watching Christians to find flaws and make themselves feel better. As a Christian, I fall every day. But I am washed by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Can you call me a hypocrite? Nope, I say what I believe and abide by my beliefs. Romans 3:23 not trying to be a bible thumper but there it is. And that is not the extent of my knowledge. But anyway, someone said that 80% of the western world is Christian...not true. The say they are Christian but in fact they worship themselves and "things". So wouldn't that be Pegan?

Degree in Evolution? Weird. How can universities offer degrees in a field that isn't 'science' per se - it's theory. I guess there ARE degrees in Theology, etc...oh well.

Evolution is science and has been worked out with biology, genetics etc. Just like relativitly is a theory, as is gravity, and many other of the "true sciences" Not very many people understand how fundamental evolution is in biology these days.

As for the religion, everyone has a beleif whether it's non christian, nothing, or christian. I don't think that one is better then the other, most of the teachings of christ, buddha, and Mohammed were common sense things, ie golden rule, ten commandments, 7 pillars etc. Most "genuinly" ethical and moral people in the world follow these rules whether they are aethest, christian, jewish, islamic, etc.

WOW, I must say, reading through these pages made me upset, happy, and disturbed all in one.

As the creator of this thread, my sole intentions were to find out who were Christians on this board, nothing more. I didn't want to preach to anyone, nor try to push my beliefs on anyone... just wanted to find out who the Christians here were.

As for the fued that's going on in here between some members, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take that to another thread or send PM's. This thread CANNOT go to the Flamewars section, it must not.

Therefore my friends, let's continue to keep this tasteful. If you disagree with someone's beliefs, send them a message, don't flame them here. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO KEPT THIS THREAD CLEAN AND FIGHT-FREE.

Prove it? Micro-evolution (the human race is getting 'taller', for instance) is a fact. It can be proven. MACRO-evolution (We used to be monkeys) is NOT a fact, nor can it be proven.

People on this forum who'd claim it's a fact have no idea what they believe. It takes MUCH more faith to believe the leaps and bounds of Evolution than the SCIENCE which lends that we were created by a specific design.

and can you not see that micro-evolution over countless millenia would eventually shift one population into separate species when they have become isolated over millions of years?

Your view to accept some of it and not all is just a copout. You are giving up microevolution as true because you see its true but you do not have the strength to reject your principals fully to accept macro-evolution because that would undermine the core of your beliefs, and thats something psychologically you are not ready to do because it is too tramatic.

religious science is bunk. a real science demands findings be retestable and scrutinized by everyone and still hold water. religious science is just like tv psychics, they wont let themselves be tested or scrutinized in a proper manner.

Besides, science never claims to have all the answers, science merely seeks to explain how world as we know it. And as soon as better ideas come into play old ideas are revised or removed.

Accepting ANYTHING requires a bit of faith. But if you are carefull where you put your allegences and care that things are done logically, rationally and honestly science is far too compelling to ignore.

Ah but here's my piece...

As an engineer I live and die by the laws of the universe. However...I often wonder how the universe is so neatly arranged? Some might say that we make it organized...but think about it. The number system was created a long time before we knew what an atom was. Why are there ordered forms of particles, why can I figure out the speed of sound and light, etc. If the universe tends to go to chaos as a lower energy state (which it does) then how did this seemingly random order come about? Seeing as you already know I'm Christian, you might be able to guess what I think. But even if I wasn't, it would point me to the idea that there *is* a greater being or beings out there. This is my self-evolved theory...feel free to poo-poo it as you wish, but it is MY logical response to questions that have arisen in my life to this day.
