Again, I was pointing out that the person in question posted that he doesn't do the "man made religion" and then posted again saying that he lived by the principles of a "man made book". I don't see how my post was rude or off the topic of "christians". The Bible is not Man-Made per se. Christians believe (and rightly so, even according to science) that the Bible is the fully-inspired word of God. While penned by human hands, the message recorded was set inplace by God Himself.

Adam: The serpent (devil) told Adam that if he went on ahead and ate that fruit, then he would't die like God had said, but he would be like him (God) (knowing the difference between good and evil). God told him he would die, the devil told him he wouldn't. He died (not physically, but spiritually). He exchanged God's truth for the lie of Satan.

Judas:
He betrayed the Jesus, but this was all a part of the plan so that Christ could fullfill his mandate by dying on the cross. Judas Hanged himself afteward.

Ever notice how Jesus when he died, he descended first, and then accended? He descended to give those who didn't have the opportunity to hear the truth 1st the opportunity to get salvation, and then he accended on up to heaven, because he was done.

Not going off topic here, so don't flame me for being atheist, but I just love how Christians still like to pretend that they're the persectued minority instead of the giant majority. I mean...do we or don't we live in a country that is like 80% Christian. That's cool if you want to meet other people of similiar faith, but doing it under the guise of "gosh I was just wondering if there could possibly be anyone else of similiar faith on this board" is silly. OF COURSE there are other Christians on this board. It's not like you're a Won-Buddhist like Bijou. GEEZ!

I understand each and every one of your beliefs and non-beliefs. I respect the "idea" that this thread was started on; to seek out people with similar but different points of view on Christianity. Whenever a subject like faith, GOD, Christ, Prayer, religion, etc... is brought up, no two minds think alike. Each of us were raised differently and now believe differently. Once this topic got off of it's intended purpose, those beliefs (that those few who have expressed) then come out as almost a "teaching" or FYI of how that person believes. Without knowing, you are also, for lack of a better word, "preaching" to the forum. I like (most) all of the users on this forum, but just as if you were to go to a party and strike up a conversation, I would guess most of us wouldn't touch on these sensitive subjects. There are just certain things that are better left to face to face conversation, instead of opening it up to hundreds of unknown people. Religion, Politics, Sexuality, etc.. are extremely sensitve subjects. Without knowing, people will say something that is expressed through emotion more than thought.

I think its fine to want to know if there are fellow Christians on the board. As the title says "Christians", seems fitting. But a thread like this ALWAYS will attract those who oppose, or dislike, or feel differently than the mass that wants to reply and share their information. It's up to those individuals to keep their peace and take their "differences" somewhere else. (eg. the Rant section) But that won't always happen of course. Just remember, respect is something that is earned.

i dare you to sit in any given organized religious gathering and find me two people who think exactly alike in terms of what it means to find salvation, to live it, or whatever you want. it's not going to happen, folks. so let's just leave our differences at the door. identify yourself as whatever it is you are and leave it at that.

I used to go to church about twice a month, but lately I've been studying by myself. The Bible can be interpreted in many ways, and I think it's a good idea to read it for yourself and see what you learn.

This is a great idea. That is how I became a Christian. I knew there was something missing or rather something fulfilling my life that I could'nt explain. I began reading the Bible and it became clear to me who was really in control of my life. Since then my life has become so easy...I never stress out, I'm fun to be around (never in bad moods), and my apprication for the simplest things in life has grown.

You really seem to take issue with people by calling them a child when they simply disagree with you. I sincerely wish you would stop belittling people who have different beliefs or opinions than you. loj posted on the first page saying he was atheist, thats why he figured you singled him out for being an atheist. All in all, he is kind of right in saying the Bible is man-made. Yes, inspired by God, but created by man. I sure didn't find his remark derogitory. Nobody else took issue with it.

That said, him calling you a moron on page 6 sucks for him, because I lost respect for his arguments. Name calling just gets old!

Also, sorry about posting this in the thread, but it was the easiest way to get my thought out to both loj and Darin. I won't post in here any more unless I have something more valid to say that pertains to this thread! Carry on!
