i find this statement from you very intriguing. first off, you say that hoopla about me attacking you and not your argument. your argument is based on a book translated by men. example: look at the lord's prayer as it is today. now if you translate it from ancient aramaic (jesus' language), you'll see that it is not a direct translation. it's not even a condensed paraphrased translation. so don't come on here touting all this crap about the bible says this and the bible says that. the bible was also used to justify s*** like the crusades. the bible was used to justify slavery. the bible was used to crucify and exterminate jews. i guess if you go with your argument, hitler is a saint, since according to hitler, it says right there in the bible that the jews all needed to die.

this is my point. the bible is left open enough where a person reading it can have a totally different understanding of what is said than you. they are not wrong. and neither are you. live and let live. you don't have to come on here and remind people that if they don't think how you think, they're going to hell. that's ****** up s***. and personally, i think you are doing exactly what you hate to be done to you (having things crammed down your throat). so back the hell up. all i said was make this thread civilized. coqui just wanted to know who claims christianity as their religion, not who has the ability to tell people they are going to hell because they do not hold the same belief system as you.

Hmmm, (my wife is fairly livid at this after spending a few years digging up artificats btw) Where is you're evidence, haven't you ever seen the dinosaurs in the museums? Not the casts mind you the real fossils? After holding and actual australopithicus africanus in her hands, it's fairly clear that they are real. Even goign to the local mines you'll find evindence of fossils. Sharks teeth, shells, etc in the middle of Minnesota. (and don't try to explain this by the flood, the sharks that these teeth are from aren't around anymore) Do you think that Satan planted these to fool the human race?

As for Carbon Dating, it's usually used for a certain time period, ie ~11,000 to 50000 ya. There are numerous other dating techniques, all based on half lifes of isotopes based in sound chemistry laws. Now who doesn't believe in chemistry?
I understand that things can get tainted, but if the area around the fossil is that old doesn't that kinda prove that it may not be exact on, but's it's pretty darn close?

There are facts here that can't be over looked ie physical fossils, genetics, even modern day observations. Where has it been scientifically been proven that the creation theory is true. If you can find me data from a major university, I'd like to see it. Don't you think that if evolution were false, other scientists would be jumping all over it to prove the other person wrong? Scientists are worse then a bunch of pirahnas, if they smell blood or weakness you're toast. If evolution was false, it most likely would have been kicked out of university life in no time. Especially in today's world.

[sarcasm] and carbon dating is false because the half life of carbon 14 hasn't yet been determined. nor has carbon 14's stability through millenia been able to determine the date of the dead sea scrolls. nor were they able to determine the date of early civilizations such as minoan society. nope. it's all hogwash. the only time carbon 14 is inaccurate is if whatever they are testing on was never exposed to sunlight. but then we have other evidence to test for that, like shifts in the earth's crust (tectonic plates) and other stuff.

so if god created the world in the garden of eden (which is in and around the area of modern day iraq), then why is it that the earliest fossilized human remains (unless you really think that bones don't fossilize in the dirt after thousands of years) came from africa. if you don't think bones fossilize, then how do you explain mummification and what happens to the bones of mummies? hmmm? uh oh. present day proof of 4500 year old fossilized records. damn.

As far as Hitler, Slavery and the Murder of Jews (Gods Chosen) Were does it justify that in the Bible? Sorry, you are wrong. You have nothing to back yourself up. I don't cram nothing down your throat, You have a choice to read this or not. Don't like it? Don't read it. All you'll hear from me is the truth, Nothing Less, and about the translations, you haven't read the translations, so you don't know. You obviously haven't thought through your argument. Even the Jews recongnize the KJV of the Bible as the most accurate, so if you want to get closer, you'll have to read it in Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek. If you really want to argue about it, PM me. i was raised catholic until the age of 17.(im 18 now). i was re-born this last year when i found jesus on a religious encounter from my church. me and my family would visit the catholic church a couple times a month, i had a baptismal and everything. in late 05' my uncle told us about a Spanish Christian church in which him and his family attend. we all attended and it was fun and interesting, this church i go to plays music and is very very joyous and happy and our preacher is great. my father then went to a christian/jesus enconter from the church, he has never been the same since, hes now a Servor at my church and is very involved in the church, i was the last members of my family to got to this encounter. at the encounter i was re-born,found jesus and, realized and learned many many things. i have a new respect for my lord and look forward to seeing him when he takes me in his hands.

Same here, except I was raised as a Southern Baptist. I never believed in any of it, especially around the hypocrites that were preaching it to me. My wife was raised the same way, now she's still searching... she leans mostly towards buddhist beliefs.

I went to church as a kid, but like many others on here, I stopped once I realized what it was all about.

To anyone who actually believes what the new testament says, go look up a directly translated copy of the dead sea scrolls (the first 7 or 8 gospels as written by jesus and the apostles) and you will instantly see how vastly different they are from the modern day bible. The official Catholic bible has been translated dozens of times into many, many different languages, and much of the nuance and specific detail has been lost over the millenia.

I'm not trying to start anything (God knows I could if I wanted to) but I'm trying to keep this thread respectful. I just wish that everyone would think for theemselves instead of just following blindly. If we treated our government the same way we treated religion, we would still be in Vietnam.
