I was out at my "thoughtful spot" (anyone remember Winnie the Pooh) with my girlfriend the other night, just talking. My thoughtful spot happens to be behind the sledding hill at the public park. Well at a half past one in the morning, a county trooper pulls up to my parked ride and demands some ID. He then asks for her ID. I give him mine, turn to her to see a slightly bemused expression - no ID. So great now he thinks she's a minor and I'm a criminal, sigh.
He looks at me, takes my license and tells me he'll be back to talk to me. In the background, another squad pulls up and blows my eyesight to hell with his spotlight. All you can hear is "woof woof" from behind the car. My girl says "it's a puppy!" She tells me my facial expression to that was priceless.
Cop comes back to tell me he ran her name and found that she wasn't a minor (he can do that?). He then asks to see my insurance card, which I give him, and to my great luck - finds to be out of date. So I get a citation for "uninsured vehicle operation" which I have to have thrown out when I go to court with proof of insurance. I laugh at him a little bit. He asks whats so funny, so I look at my girlfriend, look back at him and say its a good thing he wasn't here the night before to give us both tickets for public indeceny
I still have a welt on my arm from her for that remark. Learned three things from all this;
1 - 3M spot remover is a gem.
2 - Anyone who finds the backseat of a Protege5 too small is mistaken.
3 - Guess I need a new thoughtful spot, eh?
