Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged 220hp - 200lb-ft tq..

2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged Engine.
The all-aluminum dual overhead cam, 2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged four-cylinder engine is built off the strengths of the original, naturally aspirated 2.2L ECOTEC engine. The 2.0L Supercharged engine has a four-valve cylinder head, maintenance-free chain-driven camshafts, counter-rotating balance shafts and an integrated oil cooler.
The Eaton M62 supercharger spins at a low rpm, which improves durability and creates less noise while allowing for plenty of top-end power. Power delivery of the supercharged engine is instantaneous. Maximum boost of the supercharger is 12 psi.

Cobalt Coupe
The 2.2L ECOTEC engine is a twin-cam, 16-valve power plant that produces 145 horsepower and 155 lb.-ft. of torque. Standard on Cobalt Coupe and Sedan models, LS models and LT Sedan.

Wow, for a form of forced induction, those numbers are kinda high.

That thing it ugly as hell. It has hints from all the cars I hate the most; Cavelier, Civic, saturn, neon. I hope it dies fast.
 
I personally like the styling a lot. But it's basically a Saturn Ion Redline with a new skin. Or so it seems to me atleast, same engine if i'm not mistaken.

Wow i'd take the saturn before the cobalt its funny how they have the same engine and the cobalt is 220hp/200tq where the redline is 205hp/200tq
 
This coming from a guy that drives a 3.5 msp so I don't have much room to talk. But that wing is horrible.

I have plenty of room, and you're right. Worst part of it after the civic headlights.
 
I love the car!!! I saw it in person at NOPI and I was in aww. Great car, good man.support and awsome price. Just like the Neon, its getting harder for the imports to compete with the price and performance of the domestics.
 
Well I'm still waiting for the solstice. Then and only then will I start worrying about imports. That car's gonna be so kickass.

Ive heard of that car, but dont remember how it looks.
 
It's the new pontiac entry for 06 I believe. Just ask yourself how a RWD 250 hp car, sub 3000lbs for under 20K sounds. Same approach the SRT4 started out with, but RWD.
 
It's funny how everyone is saying that its becoming hard for the imports to compete with domestics in regards to stock "out of the box" performance.

Mazda is the exception..
When you take a look at the MP3, MSP, MSM, and soon MS6, while the first 3 arent torque monsters if you take a look at the whole package, they outshine the domestics hands down. When you look at exterior appearance there is no comparison. And I'm pretty sure in the long run, the mazda's will hold up much better than these domestics.

And just for the record I'd rather get a S/C'd Scion TC b4 a crap cobalt or saturn ION......
