cheap projectors?

so i was wanting some projectors for the protege but i know that i'd have to retrofit it. I already have 10000k hid h4 and don't want to change bulb size, so I looked up some cheap projector headlights that uses h4 on ebay and found some for about 40$. I'm not going for some nice tsx projectors or anything like that. Just wanted to reduce glare and get a decent cut-off line. would these do the job and be easier than a total retrofit?

the 2nd one looks as if it'd be really easy i'd just have to screw on the projector lense and take off my stock reflector? just a theory from a noob, would it produce a visible cut-off line using the 2nd picture's projector lense, or would light leak all around and it'd be just like before?

also is it possible to put it into the parking/turn signal lights on the headlight instead? the circle part seems like it might be big enough to fit in a small projector.
sorry if i make no sense or someone has done some research on this before.

Retrofits are amazing, but, don't scrimp on the parts. The kits you've pictured are projectors made for H4 halogen bulbs. Not HID. You'd probably have better light distrubution using Silverstar Ultras in the stock housing than putting HID's in halogen projectors. If you're going to be cutting up your headlights, might I suggest waiting for a good deal on Ebay for TSX projectors and getting them? Why destroy headlights when the cheap projectors will probably end up looking like crap??

Just my $.02

I wouldn't touch those, if I were you. Use a genuine hid projector. If you have sedan headlights, you should go for a bixenon projector, if you have p5s, go for a single beam projector as in TSXs, as Pro5x2 said.

Look at the retro i did myself, link is at my siggy.

You gotta update that siggy dude.

I'm still waiting for $$$ to send my headlights out. I havn't got the time or patience or confidence to go pulling my headlights apart and cutting into them. I'm sending to a guy off another board that does retrofits. Put me back about $740 plus shipping. But, it'll be either a bi-xenon, or, a TSX low. Still havn't decided if I want to order sedan lights and send him thse for the bi-'s or, just send him my P5 headlights to do the low's. Decisions decisions.

waaah yes i know lol

Once you go HIDs, there no turning back hehe, x10 going the retro way, like i did. (lol2)

I opted for new headlights, since mines had the plastic lens deteriorated.

Just so everyone knows that Halogen's can do pretty good, here's my current setup. I'm running Silverstar Ultra's in my low's and stockers in the fogs with RockBlocker yellow on them

I'm running this till I save the $$$ for doing a projector retrofit.

Whatcha'll think?

It's good. P5 lights are good halogen performers. Right in front of you i see two dark spots, on the left and the right. Is that supposed to be filled with the foglights?

on the shot with the car facing you? Yeah, I think that should be filled by fogs, but it's still the stock bulbs. I want to upgrade to the silverstars in there too. until I *Hopefully* get the 4000k HID kit for the fogs.

I have the headlights aimed a little high, but not bad enough to blind cars ahead of me. Does it look like the fogs are too far up or down? Any ideas?

thank you much. printed it out and i'll see if that fixes the blackholes
