I added some felt floor protectors to my Polk tweeters to tone them down a little bit. I got this idea from the Snell Acoustics type A speakers I sold where they used a piece of felt covering half the tweeter to I assume make them sound warm. These are the 1" tweeters from the Polk 6500 series component speaker system and even with the crossover set on the -3db setting they were just too harsh/strong for my liking. After adding the felt they are much easier to listen to and it cost me nothing to do since I already had them in the house.
