Changing speedometer light

Hello people,

im planning to swap my speedometer lights with LEDs. I need to know which one is the positive and which one is the negative on this picture (im talking about the bronze thing btw. Isn't it called lead)?

oh yeah this is a 93 MX6 LS 5 speed speedometer btw

put 'em in, plug it in, turn on the lights, andi f they lite up you got it right, if they don't switch 'em around.
 
LEDs doesnt give u the best results for this... might as well buy a set of reverse glow gauges...light coming from LEDs are focused in one direction like a spotlight...not the scattered type...giving u a not so good effect on the gauges...

Are you going to adapt store bought LEDs and modify them for your lights?

If that's the plan, to save you time and money just buy the 194 wedge bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com they have the LEDs already wired and set for 12volts and in all different colors. Just to let you know, they might not be as bright as you think in a car application like this. BUT I'd go with the 5way wide angle bulb if you buy from them. You'll be looking at $15-$20 + S&H.
