Forgot to turn off one thing on the damn camera from the last time I had @#$!@#$!@#$@
Doesn't pay to take pics in a rush, I wasn't planning on doing this..... and I need a REAL flash.

Looks like someone started painting your car Spicy Orange & then stopped. I have some of my own failed attempts at sunset pics to post.

pics are not all bad
trick with getting a sunset shot, is not getting the sky to look good, it's getting the car to look good too.
I can never find the free time on a good night to get some real shots the way I want them to. I had about 5 mins tonight to play with the flash and other settings. Killer with using built in flashes is sometimes you'll get the flash reflecting off of the car.
1st pic - no flash
2nd- flash, small glare on front bumper
3rd - flash but with flash glare on car.
Ideally, you want another light source to light up the car I guess. But, what was behind me was a mountain, and nothing else. I guess the next time I'll bring the spot lights, and 2 or 3 guys with those mirror type jobbies to reflect the light onto the car
none of these pics are enhanced. It's not worth the time.

I don't like any of these pics, I think they are some of the worse I've taken. I couldn't hold my hand still tonight....too much coffee I guess.
Next nice night I'll see if I can get out again. We have some gorgeous places to take pictures around here, but unfortunately you need a 4x4 to get to most. These pics are at the docs, and kind if poor part of the city. I was down that way as the sun went down so I thought what the hell.

I'm bored with Doom 3 so I took out the flash right quick in that 3rd pic, and the other pic is just be screwing around with colors.
anyways, I'm done with these things -DELETE-
I'll take better ones later on

btw: black majik, the sky in those shots is cool. I never seem to have my camera when I see the sky at it's best

there's really nothing wrong with those pics. with the sunset deal, you can't get around the fact that the sky is still going to be exposed at about 1/125 f/16 with 100 ISO. with that setting, anything not illuminated by the sun will be dark. your idea of using reflectors is a good one. however, to get a reflector to work properly, it whould need to be up close to the car in order for it to work sufficiently. otherwise, it's gonna act like a spotlight. gold works best to enhance the warm temperatures of the sunset. you'll probably need at least 3 52" reflectors. good luck!
