well i just installed my CAI today, and while I was looking around I noticed some chaffing on one of my powersterring tubes, granted at this point it is just the anti chafe tubbing but none the less it is something to keep an eye on. Im just pointing it out to all to see if anyone else has noticed are had problems with. I only have 1,200 miles on currently.

You need better pictures of the CAI.

Thats on the other side of the engine I dont see what could be doing it. I do know that the heat shield s*** under the hood sliced my fuckgin finger wide open pretty bad so it may be rubbing the foam around that pipe.

just loosen hte clamps on the cai and adjust it a bit so its off the hose

the chaffingis on the power sterring line i think it is rubbing on the sound deadning material on the hood. I was stating while douing instal and while i could relly see the engine i was inspecting it and this is one thing i found.

Um.... the intake is on the other side of the car....

I'm thinking the same thing. What does the rubbing of the power steering tubing on the right-hand side of the car have to do with the CAI that is located on the left side?

But yes I agree there is chaffing and the need to keep an eye on it..

sorry was trying to respond to that durring my break and boss called me over to do something else and in so douing i lost my train of thought. i use zip ties all the time at work i was more of less trying to equate that to zap strap. I will probably use some fiberglass tape if i see it wares through the chafe strip. ill readjust the lower clamp when i get it back from the service for the recal tonight.

He never said the CAI had anything to do with the rubbing. He just noticed the marks while he had the hood open to install the CAI. (doh)

yayayaya i didnt really read thoroughly before opening my trap. lol my bad

i think it is just rubbing on the sound deadning material beacuse i dont see any tell tell sines on the hood. i was going to adjust the tube down a little but its seated all the way.

but you still should be able to loosen up the clamps and just rotate a hair
