2008 Mazda5 GT
After 4 months and 5 days of waiting , we finally picking-up our 2008 Mazda5 GT with LP on PSilver this Saturday. Any advice what should I do or pointers should I know on the day of pick-up.

Thanks in advance and I will post some pics soon.

congrats, we're still waiting for ours to come in.

i've bought a couple of new cars, and all you really need to do is walk around the car and make sure nothing is out of the ordinary. make sure there are no scratches, dings, nicks, no equipment on the car that you didn't want on it, nothing missing that you DID want on it, etc. and, dont take delivery if you are not 100% satisfied with it. its a big purchase, and they should make you feel all warm and fuzzy when you drive it away.

dddd

Congrat as well.

I am still waiting for mine to come (2008 GT white with LP)in around Late June.

Make sure the floormats are in the vehicle and that they are the correct ones with the "Mazda" logo. I think there are 3 pieces. My dealer tried to hose me and give me some plain black ones for my sand interior. But I refused to take delivery until they agreed to get the right ones...

Also make sure that the paint does not have "rail dust" or whatever etched into it. If it does, it will need to be clayed and buffed out, Me personally, I would rather fix that myself than have sdome kid at the delership try to do it and screw it up worse.

Get a "We Owe" for any accessories that you negotiated into the deal that the dealer doesd not have in stock...

Check the wheel wells (mainly front) for the plastic rivets. Our 5 was missing a few. Other than that, do the full walk around. Our dealer signed off on the walk around without doing it and there was a dent/paint chip on the rear panel. It took me a month to get the fix straightened out. It's wasn't really a hassle, just the time taken to arrange everything. On the plus side, the dealer was very courteous and gave a free loaner for the downtime.

Another note about mats. If you ordered all weather mats, make sure the dealer also give you the carpeted mats. They are standard with the cars and the All weathers are an accessory, not a replacement!

Congratulation. Just as others have suggested, do the walk around inspection especially for any paint/dent defects before you leave with the car. As for the floor mats, if you ordered the all weather mats make sure that you get the carpeted ones too and also make sure that the carpeted mat is not under the all weather mat in the driver side, it will get stuck with the pedals. Note if you are missing the hook for the floor mat on the driver side and the felt /rubber on the cupholder on the center console.
