does anyone notice that cd's seem to me to actually sound better with centerpoint off??? also audiopilot does not seem to do squat.
I also wish that the bass had more power at higher volume, above 25
memory for power seat would be nice, as is bluetooth and sat radio that is built in from the factory with a choice of xm or sirius sat. oh well not complaining too much the cx7 is truly fun to drive for this boston area guy.....

Depending on the quality of the CD, some cd's sound MUCH BETTER with center point on, a bad cd will sound just as bad if not worse with centerpoint on. CP will not make something bad, sound good which may be what alot of people seem to expect out of it.

The better quality recording/mix down of the cd makes for better sound w/centerpoint (kind of a no brainer)

What kind of bass are you taking here? WHat kind of music do you listen to? The punch/power is way more than adequate. . . but you obviously wont get subwoofer bass out of this system. I think adding a sub to the system would be complete over kill

having been into car audio for many years, i wouldn't mind a little more bass below 50Hz

as for CP, it totally sucks arse in my opinion

the stage is much better without it

by simply installing dash speakers that run midrange and highs brings the stage high

and having the deep dash and speaker mounts help to create a more centered stage

without CP, the stage is in the windshield

with CP, the audio seems to only come from the center speaker, which is not the intention

i have a feeling there is space between the dash and speakers, which allows the side speakers to somewhat come out of the center opening, which may help to create the stage as good as it is with the CP off

my 2 cents

Cali,

I agree with you. Honestly, to me, the Centerpoint just sounds like someone turned up the reverb fader -- LOL. I listen to a good mix of music from 70's to current punk to acoustic stuff and I've yet to find music that sounds BETTER with CP on.

CP sounds fabulous to me! With the woofer and amp installed, it doesn't take much to blow out the windows. The whole vehicle vibrates with thunderous bass. Surround sound works well as advertised. Literally sounds like I'm in a concert hall! (first)

CP has (in my experience) a very limited range of effectiveness with audio CDs. I know it is very similar to DOlby ProLogic in that it extrapolates the audio in a way the simulates a more defind 5.1 space artificially - but MOST of my CDs sound better with it off. One exception which I had in recently was Dave Matthews which did VERY well with the CenterPoint decoding.

Mostly, I just leave it off.

If you were into Classical music - it'd sound AWESOME. Bose really tunes their gear to sound fantastic when replicating acoustic instruments - or symphonic instruments. I guarantee if you put in a classical CD and turn-on centerpoint, you will swear your system never sounded better.

They don't admit it and probably never will - but they really create products that do PHENOMINAL recreating natural, acoustic instruments. When it comes to every-day, compressed "pop" or Rock music... their systems are pretty-much on-par with other manufacturers.

Progressive rock by artists like YES, KANSAS, RUSH, ASIA, GENISIS sound excellent with CP enabled. Then there's PINK FLOYD, especilly "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall"

CP sounds #$#@ unreal with a limited portion of CDs. The audio spacing/imaging with a CD that center point rocks is amazing. For the other 80% of my audio, sounds better off.

I haven't noticed it with Rush, King's X or Dreamtheater... turned it off and it sounded better for all those. Eh - to each; their-own.

:)

I have to admit, I haven't actually tried RUSH and some of there songs may have to much going on to sound good. Like you say... to each his own
