CEL p2006 - dont start flaming yet

So i got this code up here in Canada and they told me they will try shaving down the IM before installing any new parts. They said that if this doesnt work then they will try to get the part. They said the part is in such high demand that it will take so long to get this is best.

I did some searching and found from others that this really isnt a cure but a temporary fix is this true? Is this a recall yet "officially"?

the TSB for this came out late last week
TSB states that under no circumstances should the original part be modified but instead replaced with the updated one

i have 1400 miles and have not had a problem yet for anything.

so wonderign if its later in milage, or just lucky?

I ran into this problem at around 900 miles and the dealer made the modification provided by Mazda. I got a CEL again at around 1400 miles, and was also told that the part won't be available for a while (2 weeks was what I was told).

It only happens when its cold outside.. so if its NEVER cold at night or in the morning where you live you most likely won't ever see it.

No way Hugh, this has only been happening to the Northern states guys so far... I've been keeping track (evil) I have 1200 w/ no CEL

Well i'm in Mississippi and I have this CEL so your keeping track of just got a lot bigger

When it warms up it goes away for me.. but, when it dips into the 30's or 20's it comes back on.

Hmmm, you should try another dealership. I took my car to the one where I bought it on a Friday, they ordered the part, it was in on Monday and I had it installed on Tues.
