I have the 6 dics cd changer, and for the past few months, a cd has been stuck in it. It will not play, load or even eject. :( Any1 got suggestions? Maybe I should just take the s*** out and buy aftermarket.

Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it
After-market system is going to tank re-sale and look tacky as all hell.

my car is a 04 w/ 92k miles on it. if the dealer does anything, they're gonna charge me & i don't know if it'd be worth the $.

hmmm never tried with a 6 disc changer but have with a regular cd player.....trying disconnecting the power from your battery....reset everything and pop the disc out...

That thought had came to mind, but someone told me it wouldn't work. I think I will try anyway! Tonight! Thank u:)

if that doesnt work then youll need to take it to the dealer. it happened to me, but it was covered under warranty

that almost always works i use to work at toyota garage and when ya un plug it and plug it back in it ejects all the disks unless its jambed but ya have to do it from the back of the unit

This has been happening to my 08 Speed3. I normally don't use the cd player, so it could have been like this for a long time (my Zune broke and it was sent back for warranty work, so I've been using the CD player lately). But CDs are constantly getting stuck. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet out of laziness.

What I've done in the mean time, is use a pen that clicks. I use these, cause they're pointy enough to fit slightly in the slot, but still flat at the end to hit the cd squarely. I just push in and out with the pen, not forcing it, but going with the motion of the CD as it tries to come out. Eventually it comes out.

the first CD is stuck in my 6-disc cd changer in the protege5. just happened last night. this upset me :( i didn't bring along my sirius radio, so i was forced to listen to FM.

so you guys are suggesting I unplug the car battery to get it to eject? currently, i can't play it, i can't eject it, i can't skip to the next disc... it's just stuck.

I had a gto with a blaupunkt in it stock and this happened on a regular basis. It was as 6 disker too. In my instance it would try to eject but not come out so usually i would take another cd and put it in just a little and angle it downward while the deck was trying to eject and it was able to pry the cd out and no problems. I have had problems in this car with sometime it dosent want to read a cd then i wait and go to another cd and back to that one and it reads it perfectly....I dunno. So insert the tip of the cd angled downward and push the eject button and try to raise the cd inside the case up.

i forgot to give this a try :(

(i usually only drive the protege5 on the weekends since i have a company car)

i was able to use another CD to get out the stuck CD.. but then when it tried to switch to the next disc (2nd disc) that one got stuck!! i can't seem to get that one out, so it looks like i'm going to lose 5 CDs and will have to buy an aftermarket radio.. doh!!

while trying to eject it just makes a constant grinding sound now.. yikes.

okay, so no kidding, i went back out tonight and the damn thing is playing the remaining 5 CDs like nothing ever happened. she still loves me afterall!!

yeah, stupid factory changers. Once for hours my CD wouldn't respond. I couldn't even select it as an option. It was like I didn't even have a CD button. Then after getting back in the car later on that night, it started working again.(burn)

once mine got stuck permanently, i had to use needle nose pliers and pull it out.. destroyed the CD of course... but i reburned a copy from itunes.

of course, i had to eventually replace the stock unit.

This happened to me in my 6 that had a 6 disc changer.. I was able to get it out by holding down the the eject button until it beeped which then spits out all of the CDs at once.

Burned CDs are a different thickness than regular CDs and seems a lot of changers have this problem.

there is a list of ways to get info out of the HU that rotus posted, press and hold while rubbing belly button etc.
one spits out error codes.

Has anyone been able to find out what the error codes mean??
I pursued the bose corporate avenue, but they played dumb, which I now understand, they don't make the unit.
I have not tried a mazda dealer
