What have you heard about this kit (other than the search under Liteswap, etc?)

Who has this on their cars and how do they like it? Does the High beam function REALLY work?

Please let me know, b/c I love HIDs as much as I love my MSP! :D I would like to join the two in Holy Matrimony!

which ones do you plan on getting anyway,4500k,5500, or the 6500k? you do realize the higher the #'s go the less functional they are and the more colorful they get right?

I want to get the 4500K.

I don't want anything higher b/c of the fact that you do lose lumens at the higher temps.

I want function, not TOO much show :D

BTW Twisted,

are they as easy to install as they say they are? (Just plug the wireharness + connector into the ignitor ballas and put the bulb into the socket (prewired and ready to go) )?

Also, how' that high beam function? DO they actually have enough room to clear the sheild and do they react quickly when you do flick em on high? :D

And 1 more: How is your service guy w/ the fact you installed HID's? This is true plug 'n play, they shouldn't have too much of a caniption(sp?) ?

Sorry for the barrage of questions...

1-yes,they are as easy to install as they say they are. now running all the wires and making everything look pretty is another story, but not difficult at all. just have to have time and patience as with anything of this nature. you get pissed off at something and bust a bulb you'll regret it.

2-high beams are just that/HIGH BEAMS. they're not so much brighter by any means as the lows they just shine higher and further out. they react the instant you click them on, there's no lag time or anything involved.

3-**** the service guys. what are they going to tell me, not to? they didn't say anything about it when i drove the car to the dealership to have the front bushings replaced so i assume there's no issue. not that there should be anyway. everything is just that,plug-n-play. kinda like wiring up a set of aftermarket driving/fog lights. but less work since you're not fishing wire through the firewall and crap.

if there's anything else let me know

you may also want to check into the H3 i believe they are fog light bulbs. the HID's as regular lights and the yellow fogs are an ugly combo. not sure how much of a differance there is in bulbs but i'm sure its noticable. plus the aesthetics alone would be worth it. now if i only had an extra $300 laying around:(

you'll have to wait till tonight. any other poses you'd like my baby to be in? no spread eagle though. she is a modest girl from time to time. plus i think she's on the rag

hey ya'll just joined today and looking for some HID's. u guys think catz is good? any other companies i should be looking at?

Also what temerature do audi's use, i want that "Violet" look;)

Twizted lol, you're just that : TWISTED! (rofl)

LoS,
welcome to the boards! As far as that Violet look, the higher the temp of the bulb (4000, 5500, 8000 K) the bluer/violet they get

But you do lose visibility. Those higher Kelvin bulbs are just for show, not daily driveability.

Good luck w/ your search. If you are looking for functionality, go w/ something in the 4000 range.

Catz is a REALLY good brand:D

hey thanks. i was reading somewhere, and i heard that aftermarket HID's sometimes arent well made and go up too high and blind other people, id still like to stay as close to legal with that as i can, i want something more useful than better looking. ill go with the 4000 range, but what are your thoughts on the height of the beam at normal

That's what I"m trying to ask Eric at Liteswap about.

There are adjustments we can make to the actual head light housing, but our housing was made for Halogen bulbs.

They might be just a little TOO bright, but we could probably aim them down a bit...

I'm checking into it. What I like about the CATZ kit is it's 100% phillips Ballast, and all Genuine grade A parts and the system is plug and play.

Meaning Take the old bulb out, put the wire harness into the Ballast, put the new bulb in. That's all, no cutting/splicing needed.

Some guys showed me where they put their ballasts, but I might stick mine somewhere else.. haven't decided yet.... Hm....

This is of course I can find 525 plus whatever else it'll cost if this Group buy goes thru

cool ill probably be down for the catz kit install at the end of the week. i used to have a type s, with the Acura 3.2tl HID kit. so it was factory installed. (I got a friend at Acura) anyways, the aim and the height of the beam were good cuz it was an acura piece. But definitely i think im gonna go with the catz, i just want to make sure beams and all are correct.
