Cargo net trouble

Alright, I'm fairly sure I'm not an idiot but I can't get the cargo net installed in my MS3. I have the instructions and have read over them several times, but the pictures and the back of my car don't look alike. Mostly I'm having issues figuring out where to install the anchors. This is a dealer bought part and I thought they were supposed to install it when I got the car, but they just tossed it at me.

Also, it would be helpful is someone could post pictures of a properly installed net.

P.S. According to these instructions, I need to remove panels from inside my car to attach the anchors? Is this correct? I don't mind doing it, but I just don't see your average consumer being comfortable with ripping out panels from their car.

Thanks all

Ummmmm I dont think you have to remove anything. There should be 4 anchors that you jus pull down and just hook the cargo net to. This is how mine looks.

Its the same on the right side, hope that helped you.

Thats funny cuz I had the same problem when I first went to put it on. I used to have a 97 Eclipse GST and the cargo net sat up vertically. I assumed that this would be the same way. After about 10 minutes of fiddling I figured it out. IMO, its not as useful as my Eclipse cargo net.

My cargo net is quite a bit different, Jam.

It sits vertically in the back of the car as if the back part of the trunk were taller. I see those little loops you are talking about, but my net is a rectangle shape and has small bungee style loops on the 4 corners, not hooks that attach to the 4 loops already in the trunk. The instructions I got almost seem as if they're for a Mazda3 sedan, not hatchback.

Here's a picture of what it should look like:

Upon looking at your pictures and this picture...my net may "convert" into the way you have yours setup, I'm not sure. Although I still do not have the hooks attached to the net itself.

Yea I think they might have given you the wrong cargo net.
The pic you showed was the one for the regular mazda3 sedan, Im quite positive its different for the mazdaspeed3 hatch, but I would check with the dealers first, and maybe bring some pictures to show them. Good luck

The cargo net for the 3 sedan sits vertically and is shaped like a pocket so you can put stuff in, and no hooks on the 4 corners, the hooks are screwed onto the trim panels. the net for the hatch (regular or speed) is just a big net with 4 hooks like the one shown in the picture.

The net for the ms3 looks pretty useless. I would much rather have the pocket type than the hold stuff against the floor type.

Problem solved. Had the wrong net. The one for the Speed3 lays down in the back of the trunk, horizontally. Took the old one back to the dealer and they gave me a new one.
