Cargo Cover holes

I just bought an 08 5 sport and included in the deal was a cargo cover. I like the cover, but I'm wondering why there are two places to mount it in the cargo area. The one closest to the hatch seems like its for something else, possibly an accessory we can't get in the USA. Anyone know what its for?

Also, I'm thinking about getting a scangauge and wondered where members have had the best luck mounting it.

The cargo cover has 2 positions (locations) so you can recline further the 2nd row seat I believe

My scanguage is on top of the steering sector. I can read it through the steering wheel and see the gauge cluster over the top of the scanguage. Another location would be the tape player location near the radio. I did not take it apart, but the sizes are similar and with a trim ring I think it would fit nicely.

The second set of holes is actually a cover for the bolts retaining the interior plastic and has nothing to do with the cargo cover. If you pop the little cover piece off and look into the hole with a flashlight you will see an eight mm bolt in there.

Scangauge mount

I thought about the cassette plug on the radio, as it does look like an ideal spot. Has anyone attempted this? Also, I would be interested in pics of mounted scangauges on the Mazda5.

Thanks for the info.

My Scan Gauge mounts right next to the pillar on a small piece of Velcro. It isn't permanent because I use it in all four vehicles. Works well as the wire plugs in right below in the cubby area and the extra wire is stuffed inside that same cubby.

What do you all who use it get for air intake temps. Mine is always higher than ambient.
